Only thing that I'd like to add is that the proper fluid level check should be done at very specific operating transmission fluid temperature. So do NOT perform the procedure without reaching the specified transmission fluid operating temperature. My 2¢.
I've explored this issue on another forum. I own a '26 Tacoma (ICE) too, and I'm pretty sure it is the same procedure for Tundra, Tacoma....and, of course, 6G 4Runner (ICE). Refer to the link below (especially post #16). Hope this helps...
Guys,
I posted this on 4G Tacoma forum too (as I also own '26 Tacoma).
Not all Toyota OBD II ports are white plugs. I have '26 4Runner with black plug (P/N 90980-12D97 marked on it), so don't be pulling the wires without careful inspection. I removed the underside panel where the OBD II port...
On February 26, 2026, Toyota released T-SB-0016-26 for '24-'26 4G Tacoma for A/C magnetic clutch "chirp" noise upon engagement of A/C compressor. Apparently, the replacement parts/assembly are on backorder. I have yet to hear anything regarding 4Runner's A/C compressor.
I went to Toyota Website to download the PDF version of Owner's Manual today. There were two different Owner's Manuals - OM35C07U Version (2026 4Runner through May Production) vs. OM35C28U Version (2026 4Runner from June Production).

Not very difficult to take them off at all (vs. it takes a bit more time for install). You may want to get some extra push pins/grommets to fill few holes if there's any void. Also, you may need two plastic brackets for front mud flap areas. Otherwise, the existing screws...you just put them...
I know it's a rare problem, but I thought his explanation for glass failure was interesting...that's all....
In fact, I ended up buying a 4Runner with the moonroof...so no foul... (y)
When I bought my '26 TRD ORP, I could not find one without moonroof in my Toyota distribution region in the multiple dealer allocations. I would have preferred to purchase a 4Runner without moonroof.
Interesting video for why some moonroof/sunroof explode/fail....especially starting at about...
Discussed in another forum...but it's the same procedure. See post #14 once you go to the link below, and read through. For the dash trims, you have to unscrew that screen. Then pop the dash trims carefully with trim removal tools. Hope this helps...
I take out those "Toyota Logo Hitch Plug" and keep it out whenever I buy a new Toyota trucks/SUV. And, I immediately spray Fluid Film to those hitch areas upon taking delivery.
After each use of the ball hitch mount, I take it out and keep it out, and immediately spray Fluid Film.
I do this...
I saw "Toyota Cargo Tray - All Weather 4Runner" on the window sticker of new 2026 TRD ORP at the dealer. Is it the cargo floor mat or a sliding cargo tray? Anyone on the forum has this option? How does it compare to the after-market products such as WeatherTech, Husky, Lasfit...etc? Please...
