Why do they get such a bad rap? Do they get in the way when entering and exiting the vehicle?

I personally think they are small....the step that runs the whole length or rock rails both provide a good place to step if you put anything on your roof.

The OEM rock rails are too close to the body to be useful as steps. Something like the Dissent Off Road step rails would be much better.

Probably won’t use the phone mount it came with but arm was all metal. Just too big for my use.

I swapped out my chrome iForceMax tailgate emblem for gloss black. The body color looks different because the top pic was taken with my garage door closed and bottom taken with door open.

Just replaced the factory installed stock Road Runner sounding horn with the Toyota Premium horn (Part# 08522-60020). The new Toyota Premium horn sounds a lot better! It's what a horn should sound like on the 4Runner.

The torque spec for each bolt is 12 Nm (or approximately 106 inch/lbs.).

Had to use my newly installed Toyota Premium horn to avoid an accident the other day. Had a BMW try to drive / merge onto the main road from a side street, but didn't see me coming down the main road. The driver in the BMW almost committed to cutting right in front of me (which would have resulted in a collision if I didn't honk the horn). By the reaction and startled look on the other driver's face, I think the horn upgrade is well worth it.

Mike, I was wondering how that all turned out for you. Glad you got the letters off. The red letters just 'pop' and look the best in my opinion. Of course, I'm biased because I have the red letters on. I think it goes perfectly with the red tow hooks and even the red trim on your front license plate. Looks great!

Cali Led Roof rack with 360 light kit and 40" light bar, Dirtcom Hitch rack spare tire mount. Drug my spare a couple times exiting creeks so wanted to get it up and out of the way to increase my departure angle. Also put Nitto Grappler 33's on it as the OEM Toyo's were crap and didn't hold up.
