Hi, Is it worth it to purchase the Toyota Dash Cam for a new TRD Pro. Currently I have the aftermarket WolfPro for my 2014. It is a great camera and system but I don't want to be messing too much with the new TRD Pro.

I bought it because I liked how integrated it is, even while knowing there are technologically better cameras out there.

There are a lot and that is what I am looking for. Can you view the footage on the stock headunit?

No you cannot.

I have the FitcamX and it's invisible compared to the OEM dash camera. I still haven't mounted the rear camera yet due to side curtain worries.

You can't view footage from any of them on the stock head unit, not even the Toyota one.

I replaced my Toyota dash cam with a Viofo, mainly because I already had it in three cars and am familiar with the software/ecosystem. I prefer the Viofo app over the Toyota one, but to be honest, they're all pretty bad.

I don't know what it's worth, but I'd sell my Toyota dash cam fo sho.

The new dashcam Toyota offers is a rebranded blackvue dashcam. I currently run a DR900x (a few years old) mounted on the right side in my 4R (same spot they put the new Toyota 2.0 cameras). if I didn't already have this working camera i'd go with the Viofo A229 Plus 2 channel. I have the 1 channel A229 in my M3 and the quality is great.

If you don't want to mess with it too much just plug it into the 12v socket behind the shifter and tuck the wires. If you don't want to install it yourself and want a pro, you can DM me and i'll let you know which shop in Richmond i went to for mine.

Is there a way to use an aftermarket dashcam and intergrate/use the power connection for the OEM dashcam?

I for one like the OEM camera. Plug and play. I have played with it a bit. Unless you shut it off it films 2 minutes loops until you turn the camera or the vehicle off. By pushing the Action button you can film longer loops if there is something particular you want to record., It video can be viewed on your phone or by pulling the chip and playing it on your computer. Also comes on if the vehicle gets bumped like while its parked and unoccupied.

Another option nobody talks about is a GoPro. I use one in my pickup when I plan on going someplace interesting. It can be easily moved from vehicle to vehicle and takes good quality video. Several different mounts available and video can be played on the unit itself or your phone.
