Dash Cam - Rear Camera Mount

On a 4 Runner, how are folks attaching the rear facing camera since you can't mount on the window as it rolls down?

Good question. I put mine on the window out of habit and it lasted all of 3 days!

Forgot about it then rolled it down while the dog was in the back lol

Then mount like I did below. Run wire hidden in the headliner to the front.

Protip: mount on the passenger's side clip, NOT center. This will allows the camera to see the rear when the window is dirty, like this:

This is exactly what I did for my 2026 4Runner. Used the existing mounting clip and that 3D printed piece from Amazon. Works well, holds it solidly, and I don't have to worry about outside moisture or having it stick to a moving rear window.

depending on the model you go with, some attached to one of the rear headliner clips, others use 3m doublesided tape
