Do what works best for you.
FWIW there was no actual 'cutting' of the headliner, just poking two quarter inch holes in it for the second mounting bolt.
I have the CA Tuned one and I like it because I didn't have to install the molle panels over the windows which I don't like. I also don't like the really thick lip on the back end of this shelf, it makes it look difficult to slide things into it.
I added the D-pillar lights a few months ago so the wiring is definitely already there.
*Easier to tap the passenger side wiring btw.
For my lights I tapped each respective side. On the passenger side there was plenty of easily accessible wire on the truck side connector, I just had to trim...
I did a couple things this week.
First was a dome light upgrade with this:

Worth every penny. But also added basic $24 Harbor Freight 'rock lights' to the underside of the CATuned shelf and wired them to the cargo lights so they go on and off with the dome lights. TONS of...
So I've been having pretty consistent issues with the passive entry seeing my fob pretty much daily for months, both when I go to unlock the doors and when I'm inside the 4Runner (usually trying to turn it on after starting it remotely). I tried my 2nd fob- no improvement. I tried a new battery...
So it turns out I was totally wrong (or they changed something). Turns out as long as you are stopped you can press Edit and then use the three lines on the left (hamburger) to drag the stations up and down to reorder them.
As others pointed out it's totally possible.
I got this same shelf and installed it last week.
Love the shelf, especially how it's barely visible through the rearview mirror while driving; they did a great job of nestling it higher than the rear seat headrests.
Installation wasn't awful though their lack of instructions was annoying...
Had 5 Wranglers over the years, most recently a 2018 JL Rubicon. Finally sold it last year around this time to get a '25 Trailhunter. Absolutely love the 4Runner and more than anything I'm happy with the reliability that Toyota brings. Biggest loss coming from the Jeep: no more manual transmission.
This was the answer (for me anyways).
I hadn't previously used any of the Toyota commands. Here's what works for me: Hit the voice command button, say: "Show Sirius channels" and it gets me (most of the way) there. Just one actual click on the screen to show my favorites list. I can also...
I'll try it but I thought that just changed the audio source (like cycles between FM - AM - Sirius - Amazon Music etc.) Not looking to change audio sources, just looking to change what's displayed on the screen. Next time I'm in the 4Runner I'll give it a try.
So I'm often using Android Auto for navigation but will want to switch to Toyota audio to see what artists are on my other Sirius favorites. It's an annoying number of clicks to get there. Bottom-left to go split, then click the array of dots to show apps, click Toyota, then click the music...
When I got my OTT tune I mentioned to the tuner I was considering buying an aftermarket intake and he mentioned it'd then need a re-tune. (He also said don't bother and that in his opinion they didn't do anything).
Can't speak to tubing diameter on aftermarket intakes.
Hope this helps.
