I have the kali king and I only keep it on when we are camping and about a week or so after because I’m lazy. Just be aware of mounting to low profile racks. That’s the biggest challenge. I bought van ultra mounts and had to modify to make it work.

The tent is amazing. I’ve never had one that I’ve enjoyed this much, full stop. You definitely know it’s there though, it’s heavy and not aero at all
Seconding the low profile racks/RTT issue... my husband mounted mine last week on the WD rack, and it took him HOURS because he couldn't get to the brackets for mounting. He's a heavy equipment mechanic, so thankfully he's able to weld something to work, but definitely something to be aware of.

The first time can be a pain to mount. I have 4 sets of Sherpa 1” mounts on my westcott low profile rack. It took a lil bit to get to set but after set I can take if off or install in like 20-30 min tops. Front set are accessible from the moon roof so that’s super easy. The middle sets are on one bar which I remove or attach that makes it easy, 4 screws from outside. It’s a lil harder with the big awning to get to one side but have a nice tool that makes it easy. Back set are second to last bar. I can get the nut started before lowering it all the way and then use a long ratcheting box wrench to tighten it or if I’m lazy remove the last bar.

How would this be done without a moon roof for access ?

Honestly I would probably pull the front bar and fairing.
Prinsu also have a mount that could be easier but only works with some tents. It’s allows you to have nut started for attachment to bars and they should be angle to use a long ratcheting box wrench. The nut they use to attach the foot to the tent uses a nut and the nut doesn’t work with the tent i have. It has to fit a specific size nut.

Have a Sherpa rack and bought a couple extra crossbars. Mounted them to the bottom of my Smittybilt RTT. Biggest pain is getting the RTT up there (2 taller people) then it just drops onto the rack and bolts into the crossbars. Simple
