  1. Portable battery jumper/charger

I have no doubt that mine would be fine after 6 months to a year. It's really more of a security blanket for me to know that it's always topped off.
  2. Portable battery jumper/charger

I'll chime in with a NOCO recommendation. I've carried mine in my "emergency bag" in my 4R since 2019. Used it once and it worked nicely. I do have a monthly reminder in my calendar to top off the charge. It never takes more than a few minutes to top it off.
  3. 2026 TRD ORP - TRD 2.5" Lift Kit + Toyo R/T Trail 285/75R17 + KMC Technic 17x8.5 +18mm (slight trimming)

I'm intrigued by your mention of this wheel. Any chance you could provide a link to the specific wheel?
  4. Cracked Premium Package Windshield Help!!!!

In my experience, insurance policies cover glass when the damage is sufficient to interfere with vision or create some other safety issue. 4Runner windshields seem to be rock magnets. I'm on my third windshield on my 2019 ORP (~185K miles), and I only replace the glass when the divot is in my...
  5. Roof Top Tent (RTT) Suggestions

I'll add another reason for a RTT vs. tent -- there may not be any suitable spot for a tent. I've been in backcountry locations where I wanted to camp at an overlook but the ground was completely rocky and rough and no way to set up a tent. A companion with a RTT was quite comfortable, but I had...
  6. Getting rid of dealer installed vehicle's tracker

This is a very useful thread, thanks. I've made a note to stipulate no tracker when I buy my 6G in a few months.
  7. Do you use your Sunroof / Moonroof?

I'm in the personal preference camp. I won't buy a vehicle with a moonroof/sunroof for two reasons: 1) the rim/frame around the roof window drops the headliner quite a bit and I need all the headroom I can get; and 2) I find the light above me a distraction. I"m sure I could adjust to the light...
  8. Owners in the PHOENIX area - Where did you get your lifts installed?

I don't have any advice to offer but I had a similar experience with my new, 2019 ORP when I tried to get Bilsteins installed in the Boston, MA area. No mechanic was willing to do the work; they were afraid it would void the warranty and didn't want the liability. There aren't any "offroad...
  9. Two ways that a Jeep Wrangler is better than a 4Runner

You must have very long arms if you can do that from the passenger's door. And I'd be rather surprised if my wife did that from the passenger seat.
  10. Two ways that a Jeep Wrangler is better than a 4Runner

I'd like to know the answer to this as well -- my very petite wife will definitely need a real handle.
  11. Chainsaw recommendations?

I have a Stihl that I bought several years ago when a big oak tree fell in the back yard, just missing the house. It cut the oak into chunks with no issues, including thick butt end (the neighbors were fighting over the wood). Excellent battery life and plenty of power. I'm planning to pack it...
  12. 2026 4Runner Pricing / Changes / Updates / Colors - Official Announcement

Thanks for the prompt reply and explanation. Sounds like -- if any early fixes have been incorporated already in assembly lines -- I might be better off grabbing a 2025 (I plan to get a non-hybrid) before the end of the calendar year and avoiding the 2026 price bump. Doesn't sound like I'd get...
  13. 2026 4Runner Pricing / Changes / Updates / Colors - Official Announcement

So if I'm understanding this correctly, the 2026 is essentially the same vehicle as 2025 and there's no point in waiting for the second year of the new generation? Here's my dilemma: I never have purchased the first year of a new model or generation, waiting for any learning curve to be...
  14. OEM Trailhunter steel skid plates (front, rear, transfer case) install & part numbers for 2025 4Runner Off-Road Premium ORP

Quick questions: How does weight of these skid plates compare with aluminum from other vendors? Not having skid plates on my current 5th-gen, do they interfere at all with access to oil plug & filter?
  15. Thinking about making the switch from Jeep Wrangler

Having driven in snow all my life (New England), I've never had 4WD until I got my 4Runner TRD ORP in 2019. In all those years, only a few times on steep hills where I ever felt I needed 4WD (and didn't have it back then). No one in my family (living in hilly, snowy country) ever had 4WD. We...
