I really do not understand where did the ball get dropped on that design. The driver side not even having anything baffles me... I read someone mention air bags, etc.... but LC250 had 2 giant handles both sides....
It's becoming habit to point and the A pillar for passengers to look for the backwards handle....it works ok if you know it's there and use left hand rather than the right one. It's definitely not the "natural" way anyone get 's into a truck...

even when someone knows its there using your left hand then swinging in with a crossbody grip is super awkward
