I prefer this option with the decal. I have to find this in Black and white then I'm sold.

I really do not understand where did the ball get dropped on that design. The driver side not even having anything baffles me... I read someone mention air bags, etc.... but LC250 had 2 giant handles both sides....
It's becoming habit to point and the A pillar for passengers to look for the backwards handle....it works ok if you know it's there and use left hand rather than the right one. It's definitely not the "natural" way anyone get 's into a truck...
Thanks OP and everyone for sharing these solutions..

even when someone knows its there using your left hand then swinging in with a crossbody grip is super awkward

I temporarily installed a grab strap. However. . .

Think I figured out how to use the OEM grab handle (with running boards).

Place your RIGHT foot on the running board.
Grab the OEM handle with your LEFT hand.
Step up with your RIGHT leg while pulling up & in with your LEFT hand.
This balances your body mass fairly well as you swing in and flop you butt cushion down onto the seat in one motion.

Give it a try.

Left right left right, I ain't about that hokey pokey life.

This isn't rocket surgery. Or...It wasn't until some lamp post at Toyota said "LeT's rEdO tHe hAnDLe" and proceeded to mess up a concept that dates back to the evolution of opposable thumbs.

I did the mod in the OP and it works great. I ordered a couple of different straps though. The one linked in the OP is too long...It's a little distracting and hangs down juuuuust a bit into the sight line of the passenger mirror.
