I just received my downpipe and it looks great. It came with all new gaskets. Install doesn’t look too bad. Hopefully it doesn’t make the exhaust crazy loud. I have the AWE exhaust so we shall see…

what I was told was the downpipe didn’t matter for hybrid or not. Btw I haven’t installed it yet as it’s below zero here in Iowa but should be good this week so will have the install down soon I promise.

Our downpipe is compatible with all 2024+ Tacoma/4Runner/LC250 (Gas and Hybrid models).

Don’t count on it. It will help your turbo spool up faster though

I don't have a hybrid, and it sounds too elaborate, meaning I was hoping for just a straight down pipe. I'm not looking for a catalytic converter on the downtail pipe. Most of my driving is asphalt so this would be a temporary add-on. Thanks anyway

Does it come with its own heatshield?

Or, is it up to the end user to figure out how to manage heat from the downpipe?

The OEM heat shield does not transfer.

we have an optional upgraded insulated stainless thermal shield if you’d like to go that route.

Thank you for the info and I'm glad you folks offer a solution. I thought I'd check because it reminded me of aftermarket exhaust systems where pretty much all of them don't come with any heatshields contrary to what the OEM system has. I figured Toyota added heatshields on these components for good reason.

Actually have a couple more questions - it looks like the OEM downpipe is supported at about 3/4 of the pipe length with a "manifold stay" bracket that bolts onto the engine or transmission or something in that area. It looks like there is something similar on your GR pipe, but no support bracket for the 4Runner/Tacoma one.

How is the downpipe supported? It seems like it just hangs from the turbo and then uses the exhaust front pipe as support. Not sure this is the case but wanted to confirm as I am just looking back and forth at pictures of an OEM downpipe and this new one.

Is there also a solution from you guys that includes a support bracket for this new downpipe?
