...coming from a set of King 2.5s on my 3G Tacoma, I promised myself I wouldn’t go down that road again unless I truly needed that level of suspension. That’s a lot of money just to get a lift when the truck spends its life on pavement.
I agree. I really didn't want to resort to an aftermarket suspension just to make my already expensive truck have a decent ride on certain roads. The Fox 2.5 rear shocks were $347 each and I installed them myself. They have OEM-style isolation at the mounting points and a boot to protect the shaft. The front Bilsteins are still on, contributing a tolerable amount of "jitteryness" on those roads, but it was the rear Bilsteins that really had to be swapped out. Other 6G owners are trying shocks from different trims or from Lexus models with uninspiring results. I'm glad I got rid of the majority of the jitters without breaking the bank.
