No Bass in JBL Rear Subwoofer & Rear Door Speakers

I had the issue of no sound coming from the rear and the sub not working. As I was looking for a fuse and just decided to take out the Bluetooth speaker. All the speakers started working. I put the speaker back and it has been two days with no problems. Most random fix but I am not complaining.

WTH?! When you say “no sound from the rear and the sub not working”, are you saying that absolutely no sound was being produced by the rear doors soeakers, the rear lift gate speakers & the subwoofer?
Does the Bluetooth speaker even produce sound along with the other speakers in the vehicle? Mine doesn't. I've not used it yet but I've been thinking that the Bluetooth speaker is simply there as a novelty to take with you outside the vehicle to listen to. Is it simultaneously functioning along with the rest of the sound system somehow?

The Bluetooth speaker plays if it’s in the dash. Same with the sub it’s really really low.

The sub was not playing at all. The passenger and tailgate speakers was very low and muffled. I tried even putting all the sound to the rear and it still no volume. I think if the 5 copper connectors on the side of the Bluetooth speaker is not set right, I might give an issue to the rest of the system.

Thabks but I believe that's just for a supplemental amplifier. It likely doesn't give granular control of the subwoofer & rear speakers.

Doesn't allow control of subwoofer volume with stock volume control knob . They are working on a fix as we speak .

The ENA-3T3’s RCA outputs are somewhat compatible with JBL-equipped models when adding a powered subwoofer. We are currently tackling an issue where the aftermarket subwoofer's volume cannot be controlled by the factory radio's volume knob. For example, if the vehicle's volume is set to 0, the subwoofer may still play music.

You can work around this by using a subwoofer that has a separate bass control volume knob. You would then adjust the subwoofer's volume using that dedicated control instead of the radio’s volume knob.

If you do not plan on adding an aftermarket subwoofer using the RCA outputs on the ENA-3T3, you do not need to worry about this issue."

I called them as soon as I finished my install and realized my sub had no volume and they told me that they estimate the new harness to correct the sub volume issue will be released sometime in “quarter 2 of 2026”, so I just went to TacoTunes and ordered their LOC harness and will use that once I get time to install it. Just have to switch my RCAs and remote from the Best Sonic amp to the LOC.

To those about to call me a dummy (which I usually am, no doubt) I have been in car audio for 25 years and the gain control knob is often referred to as a volume knob by lower end companies so I assumed that was the case here.

I was wonder if TacoTunes had a setup yet.

Does it pull a clean signal before JBL gets its dirty mits on it, so I would get a clean signal to the sub amp?

Not sure if mentioned in this thread yet, but I recently switched from spotify to Apple Music and today I switched my music quality setting to LOSSLESS and holy shit its night and day difference. I could hear much more bass and treble and overall just a way deeper sound. Also try it hard wired vs bluetooth. No matter what you do, bluetooth is going to compress the audio. When I tried hard-wired via USB-C lossless on carplay, Kendrick Lamar had my truck sounding wayyyy different than before. Bass from the door speakers and sub, and I had to actually turn it down when I got to my neighborhood to avoid sounding like a high school kid.

TL;DR: Try switching your audio settings in your streaming service on your phone to LOSSLESS or Hi-Fi Lossless (Apple music). The files are much bigger, but it makes a huge difference. Also try plugging your phone into USB-C (on the right side of your nav screen) instead of bluetooth.

I have it in the TRD Pro. JBL sounds okay, I can't say that I'm impressed with subwoofer performance. I've also wondered if it's actually there.

Same. It’s honestly trash for being a premium system. Super tinny. My FJ had better bass from the rear subwoofer.

I’ve tried plugging the phone into the USB on the side of the screen. How can one tell if it’s actually running media through the cable and not just staying on Bluetooth? When I go into the menus and select the phone as a media source, it shuts down CarPlay.
