Nice looking little trailer, can you give some details on it?

Not really supposed to tow in the first 1000 miles, but sounds like you had little choice...and I am guessing that is a fairly lightweight trailer?
Yep, not ideal but very limited options! The trailer is lightweight, ~1500 lbs dry. It’s a Timberleaf Pika Offroad and is perfect for our needs. Took it as easy as I could on the drives given the new engine and barely noticed it back there.

I like it...I think I need one of those trailers :). We have a Skoolie, but then can't really off-road (well, it can probably do pretty well, is built like a tank, and has more ground clearance than any 4Ruunre or Jeep--but I would hate to get it stuck!). Theoretically I could tow the 4Runner on a trailer, but that is less than ideal in many ways. Plus the bus (diesel) gets about 10 MPG. We got that as I did not have a good tow vehicle, but now that I do I kind of would just like a trailer.

Did a lot of lurking before pulling the trigger, so might as well make it official…

- What's your vehicle history / background?
Had a couple of older Camaros and Firebirds growing up. First new purchase was a 2001 Mitsu Eclipse GT (wanted a 3000GT but they stopped making them in 2000 iirc). Traded up to an Evo X GSR in 2011. Garaged the Evo and picked up a 2022 Tacoma TRD OR, which gave us the off-road bug…

- What attracted you to the 6th gen 4Runner?
About a year after getting the Taco I found myself questioning whether I should have gotten a 4Runner instead. So, after a string of problems we decided to put the wife’s 2015 Grand Cherokee out to pasture and jump in a 6th gen.

Was super hesitant on the turbo 4 cylinder but after back-to-back test driving a 2023 TRD Pro and 2025 OR it was a no-brainer – granted those V6’s are virtually bulletproof, the driving experience in the 6th gen is definitely next-level!

Couldn’t find a dealer in our area with the one we were looking for, wound up hopping on a train to Baltimore to pick it up. Got a good ~240 break-in miles on the way back… =D

2025 OR (non-Premium) with full Trailhunter skids (including the diff), black TRD rims, TRD front tow hooks. Only thing I did (so far) was swap the factory tires for some more aggressive AT4s

Also picked up a Baja Designs XL Sport light bar - just waiting on my Backwoods DRIFTR roof rack to ship

2018 Golf R Stage 1
Hi there, new here in BC, Canada. Older guy never owned a Toyota but have owned many cars (mostly older muscle cars) as well as a few built Jeeps and pickups. Currently have been playing with a 2018 VW Golf R (IE Stage 1) that is a LOT of fun but would like to add something with a bit more versatility. Ordered up a ‘26 Hybrid Base which seems to have been ORP in ‘25 here in Canada. Looks like we’ll get delivery late Jan. or Feb. was considering a LC initially but 4Runner seemed like a better value. Happy to be here and join the group!
