Nice looking little trailer, can you give some details on it?

Not really supposed to tow in the first 1000 miles, but sounds like you had little choice...and I am guessing that is a fairly lightweight trailer?
Yep, not ideal but very limited options! The trailer is lightweight, ~1500 lbs dry. It’s a Timberleaf Pika Offroad and is perfect for our needs. Took it as easy as I could on the drives given the new engine and barely noticed it back there.

I like it...I think I need one of those trailers :). We have a Skoolie, but then can't really off-road (well, it can probably do pretty well, is built like a tank, and has more ground clearance than any 4Ruunre or Jeep--but I would hate to get it stuck!). Theoretically I could tow the 4Runner on a trailer, but that is less than ideal in many ways. Plus the bus (diesel) gets about 10 MPG. We got that as I did not have a good tow vehicle, but now that I do I kind of would just like a trailer.

Did a lot of lurking before pulling the trigger, so might as well make it official…

- What's your vehicle history / background?
Had a couple of older Camaros and Firebirds growing up. First new purchase was a 2001 Mitsu Eclipse GT (wanted a 3000GT but they stopped making them in 2000 iirc). Traded up to an Evo X GSR in 2011. Garaged the Evo and picked up a 2022 Tacoma TRD OR, which gave us the off-road bug…

- What attracted you to the 6th gen 4Runner?
About a year after getting the Taco I found myself questioning whether I should have gotten a 4Runner instead. So, after a string of problems we decided to put the wife’s 2015 Grand Cherokee out to pasture and jump in a 6th gen.

Was super hesitant on the turbo 4 cylinder but after back-to-back test driving a 2023 TRD Pro and 2025 OR it was a no-brainer – granted those V6’s are virtually bulletproof, the driving experience in the 6th gen is definitely next-level!

Couldn’t find a dealer in our area with the one we were looking for, wound up hopping on a train to Baltimore to pick it up. Got a good ~240 break-in miles on the way back… =D

2025 OR (non-Premium) with full Trailhunter skids (including the diff), black TRD rims, TRD front tow hooks. Only thing I did (so far) was swap the factory tires for some more aggressive AT4s

Also picked up a Baja Designs XL Sport light bar - just waiting on my Backwoods DRIFTR roof rack to ship

Hi there, new here in BC, Canada. Older guy never owned a Toyota but have owned many cars (mostly older muscle cars) as well as a few built Jeeps and pickups. Currently have been playing with a 2018 VW Golf R (IE Stage 1) that is a LOT of fun but would like to add something with a bit more versatility. Ordered up a ‘26 Hybrid Base which seems to have been ORP in ‘25 here in Canada. Looks like we’ll get delivery late Jan. or Feb. was considering a LC initially but 4Runner seemed like a better value. Happy to be here and join the group!

Thanks to all your help I was finally able to source one at a decent price with no adds in GST area.

The Outback has been given to the wife. Had 12 miles, now 200 from bringing her back home. Didn't use cruise, adjusted rpms, and took a break. Will do my first oil at 1000.

Hey everyone.

Please don't ban me, but I currently have a 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness.

I have wanted a Taco since back in 1999 and never made the switch to Toyota.

Really considering getting a '26 4Runner Trailhunter, so this forum has been popping up a lot in my searching. Figured I'd join and get browsing on topics.

I just came from a 23 OBW. Unfortunately, I was rear ended and it was totaled. Made the jump to a 25 TRD Pro and love it. The Subie had my heart, and I miss it. But I absolutely love the 4Runner.

My OBW.

First time 4Runner owner and got a great deal on a TRD Pro. Came from a 23 Subaru Outback Wilderness, which I loved. That was totaled and wanted something a little more capable to tow my square drop trailer. We put about 75000 miles on the OBW in a little over a couple years, and plan on doing the same with this!

Hello

Past vehicles are 2X Jeeps, 2X Xterras, 2X Raptors, 2X Outbacks

Tried to get a Tacoma years ago but got frustrated with the allocation process and not being able to order a truck the way I wanted it. Rented a 4Runner a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it so I started looking around. Found the allocation list at the top of the page, saw a 4Runner that met my specs and bought it

Picking a 2026 TRD Pro up on Friday

Thanks for all the info I've already gleaned

Hello from Austin, TX! My first 4Runner, a '25 ORP in Cutting Edge, is being delivered Monday. While my Pilot is a comfortable ride and has taken my pups and me on adventures in 27 states, I am looking forward to being able to explore further afield more confidently in the 4Runner.

First order of business is installing a swivel step for the trailer hitch for the dogs, followed by removing the second row seats to make the back more spacious for day-to-day driving and for future car camping.

Previously owned a 2021 Honda Pilot, 2012 Honda Crosstour, and a 1999 (I think? It was my mom's car first) Lexus RX300.

Chevy Silverado, 4Runner
Hello. I bought my very first 4Runner (and very first Toyota) just before Thanksgiving and shortly after, joined this forum.
Prior to the 4Runner I have pretty owned Chevy or GMC vehicles ('85 S-15 pu, '91 S-10 pu, '00 Jimmy, and '13 Silverado). I actually bought the Silverado over a 4Runner because the V8 got very similar fuel economy and I liked the seating better.

I decided I wanted a change because all my previous vehicles have either had major engine issues (Chevy S-10 (two engines)) or transmission issues. The Silverado has been the best with only a transmission issue and luckily, just before extended warranty expired. So I wanted to try a different manufacturer.
I always wanted a 4Runner, but never liked sitting in it. So when it was announced that there would be a 6th generation 4Runner, I was anxiously awaiting its arrival. I went to my local Toyota dealership when the 4th Gen Tacoma came out and I liked it. I did test drive both the hybrid and non-hybrid versions and ended up getting a TRD Off Road Premium. Great safety features and very good cameras. I like that when I put it in reverse I get a top view in addition to the back view.
I really like the vehicle to begin with, but I am liking it more and more each time I drive it.

Hello from Canada!
Have owned many Toyota trucks, 5 Tacoma’s, 2 Tundra’s, an FJ, but never a 4Runner so this is my first one. Coming from my 24 Tundra and don’t have any regrets whatsoever, this thing is probably my favorite of all!

Guess I should introduce myself...

Howdy! Just stepped into my first 4Runner ('26 ORP Hybrid in Underground)...coming from the Jeep world (traded in '21 Wrangler Unlimited Sport Altitude). Hoping this ORP Hybrid will last me for 2-3x as long as the Jeep did.

Another "Guess I should introduce myself"...

Recently, ahem "early retired" and after a hard look going to ditch my Ram RHO in favor of a 4Runner that is IMHO at least going to be a much longer term and more reliable vehicle. Been tracking local allocations, and a Heritage Blue Platinum popped, so I dropped by a dealer yesterday to get in a test drive on a different hybrid model, spec some PIOs, and put in a deposit. Looks like I'll have my 4Runner (and Toyota) late February!
