Former 5G owner thinking about getting a 6G. Looking forward to the comments….

I bought a '25 ORP. IMO it's the best trim. While it came with almost all the options I was looking for, I've done a pile of mods and upgrades. For me that's the best part of owning a 4Runner. There are loads of upgrade options available for both improved performance snd personalization.
I've heard all the whining about the 2.4 turbo. The thing is awesome and with the right care, I'm sure will last every bit as long. The eight speed transmission is also way better. If a 4Runner is your thing, you'll love the 6th gen.

My 2026 ORP has surpassed most of my expectations. The power delivery is definitely suffice and a little peppy. The transmission is buttery smooth. It rides better than I thought it would (I'm on the factory 2.5" TRD suspension and 34's). The road presence is noticed even more so than my modified 22 Porsche Macan GTS. I literally love everything about it aside from the smallish gas tank, but I can look past that.

Which grille lights are those?

Got the grill raptor lights on Amazon. They clip into openings in the honeycomb grill and fill that opening. They are numbered for which spot they go in. I can send a link later if you need it.

Let me just say that I have a 6th gen hybrid with the TRD 2.5 in lift and running Falken Wildpeak R/T's - I get 16 MPG. If you're concerned about MPG, don't get a 4runner.

I agree with everyone else that mileage and range are NOT reasons to buy the 6th Gen. I get about 17-18 city (most of my driving) and 20-21 on road trips on my gas TRD-OR.

That said, I got about 2-4 mpg better with my '25 Tacoma TRD-OR Hybrid and that engine was much smoother, had more passing lane punch and no lag. I would seriously consider the hybrid if it's in your budget--it wasn't in mine when I switched to the 4Runner. (I never owned one of the old V6s so I can't compare).

Drove both, but didn’t own a 5G. My simple take…
- 6g drives lighter
- 6g feels much quicker
- 6g makes funny noises
- 4Runner goodness is present in both gens

That’s kinda low, I’m getting 22.x with my stock OR gasser.

Installed Auxbeam AS-R40 RGB 4-Switch panel for lights. Used Yota Xpedition over battery mounting bracket.

you also dont have a lift, r/t tires and cali traffic.

i was getting 16 then 18-19 until i hit 8k miles then it jumped to 20-22 mpg.

and that was playing the hybrid game of how much i can drive on electric before the motor kicks in.
