fair but that would be a lot of keystrokes for me because by "unmarked back roads without a shoulder" I really mean "the road by which I access my neighborhood"
I don't *hate* it. got somewhat used to Honda's version in my Odyssey. But there are times when it steers hard left for no apparent reason. Seems like that happens on unmarked back roads without a shoulder...
Decisions indeed! Your needs are almost exactly like mine. Usually short drive with 1-2 road bikes or sometimes 4 MTB; once a year road trip to Northern Michigan with an array of bikes -- big family so we now take two vehicles each with a 4-bike rack*
Again, I like the Saris for its flexibility...

Seems like 1UP is the forum favorite, but I've used Saris SuperClamp racks for years and love them. Here's why:
- Infinitely adjustable: I've carried every combination of adult mountain, road, gravel and hybrids and kid MTBs and single speeds down to 16" wheels (maybe smaller...I just don't...
MadGhost: sorry to revive such an old thread, but I was searching the forum to confirm I can fit a Skybox 18 on my 4Runner. I used it for years on my Odyssey and love it--huge capacity, easy to install, load, open, close. But of course the rails on the Odyssey were much longer than the 4Runner...
Spent a few months with a '25 Tacoma TRD Off-Road Premium hybrid which was a blast to drive--but the second row leg space wasn't working for the family, lol. Switched to '26 4Runner Off-Road Premium. Miss the hybrid's smoothness and power but love the 4Runner!
