The height is 39 1/4" in the rear and 39 3/4" in the front. Was hoping it would settle but after 200 miles it's remaining the same on the tape measure. Not a big fan of the stinkbug look but it rides nice. I figure after a front bumper and winch that number will then come down.
Put some steel engine, transmission, a-arms, and transfer case skid plates and the front will come down a bit....ask me how I know that. lol

Just got the TRD 2.5 inch lift completed 5k out the door. The labor was 1900 with the kit running the typical 2999. I found the lift on sale from a dealership in another state for 2490 but after the shipping was added at 470 it ended up not being worth the risk of the shipping. Didn't want to worry about damage and the hassle of dealing with any returns. Threw the methods and the 285/70/18 Falken wildpeak At's on that I had on the 25 Land cruiser and I do have some minor rubbing. The LC250 had the wheels and tires on it stock with zero rubbing and that was on full flex off road. So the wheel clearance on the Land cruiser is much better even with a 2.5 inch lift on the 4runner.

Very nice. I agree wiith you, I wish the front end was just a inch or so lower... I feel like it's much higher than the advertised 2.5". Very interesting that those tires are rubbing at only a 33.7" diameter. I feel like my 285/70r17s have a mile of extra clearance and almost look goofy small after installing the kit.

On another note, what made you trade the LC for the 4R? I cannot stop thinking about trading mine on an LC. Even more after installing this lift.

thanks guys for helping! I read the instruction manual and found out you do need to refill the diff fluid. The front axles goes into the front diff. That’s why.
But all good! Got new fluid! And it’s done!
Love it! Feels very nice!!
I am very glad you checked. Clearly my recall was off! (and I should have checked before I posted.)
I think this means no front diff oil replacement for me until 30K miles since the lift kit installer took care of that. (I might top it off to make sure).
Congrats on the lift. looks great.

I know what it says, I'm surprised you had to add any.
Step 21 in that instruction says: "DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL". I assume because when you remove the axle from the diff ("23. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY") the diff would at least partially drain in a less convenient place.

All good. I've never had to drain the fluid when I've replaced CV axles on other vehicles. I'm surprised, that's all, as I said.

Couple of reasons.
1 -The back window rolling down on the 4runner is a must when you have 5 dogs. Didn't care for the windshield wiper on the Land Cruiser's back window.
2- The resale value isn't going to hold up as well on the LC250.
3- The tuna boat factor. The LC just feels like a luxury SUV. I had friends say it looked like a soccer mom car. So the looks just arent as aggresive.
4- the toggle type buttons for the ac/ fan controls ect. I didn't car for constant tapping up or down for a turn up or down of the temp controls or fan speed. The 4runner's dials are much nicer to do quick adjustments. Which brings me to the volume button, small and slick I love the large center positioned volume button on the 4runner.
5- the windshield is straight up flat like the bronco or Jeep wrangler. That makes for more rock chips and those windshields run close to 4k to install and recalibrate.
6-The screen on the land cruiser is long and narrow not the best for a quick glance on the navigation apps. I love the 14" screen on the 4runner.
Things I miss on the LC.
Heads up display
Map display on the instrument panel and more customizable options.
Disconnecting sway bar, a great feature that I miss for offroading.
LED DRl's cant understand why 4runner's still dont give a decent led DRL unless you upgrade to a platinum which isnt really an offroad vehicle with no locker. or the trailhunter which I would never want a plastic snorkel that makes excessive wind noise and fades in the sun after a few years. Or lastly the TRdpro which in my area was impossible to find cause I searched throughout California and found one available 500 miles away with a 10k markup. ugh not for me.
Even though both had the Iforce max engine the 4runner just felt faster. Due to the part time 4 wheel drive as oppossed to the all wheel drive of the LC.
Dont get me wrong the LC was a great offroader and very luxurious. Supple leather and a much more refined truck. No understeer, great handling, smooth and quiet.
Keep me updated on your choice.
Thanks

LOL I'm sure that will remedy the stinkbug look. :)
Yeah, I lost more than 1/2" on the front end with all the extra steel weight of the skids. The stock springs are really spongy. I already replaced the rear ones. Front ones may be next.

What does "stinkbug" look mean? I've never heard that term used.

Stink bug refers to a very low wide stance that is usually low on the back and very high in the front or low in the front and VERY high in the back. It can go both ways.

Here's a real picture of a stink bug for reference where the term originated.

Ah, rake or reverse rake, thank you. Hadn't heard it used before.

I never heard that term either, but it would immediately make sense if you ever saw a stinkbug. If you look at one, the way they sit is with their front higher than their rear.

Even after the lift kit isn't the rear still taller than the front? not 100% factory rake but 1" less?

Also the reason I'm not a fan of leveling kits, "Carolina squat"

Rubbing with 285/70/r18? whats the offset on your method wheels?

Ok I am a little confused now. With this kit, will 285/75r17 (33.8ish") fit without rubbing? I thought the Ed Martin videos showed about a 33.7" tire fitting with no issues, but @Browndirtcowboy says his rub. Anyone else?
