As I consider getting the TRD Lift Kit I've added that to my scheduled 15+20K Service (including brake squeal TSB). Here is what I received from the dealer (which is the same one I bought my TRD ORP 12.5 months ago):

TRD Lift Kit (#PTCCY-8932)
The kit is available for order directly through our retail parts website, where the 15% off discount is applied exclusively online (exclusions may apply — worth checking the site for full details). Once you have the kit, we'll handle the installation — labor runs $2,960.00, and as a goodwill gesture I'm happy to knock 10% off that, bringing it to $2,664.00.

The MSRP for the kit is $2999. So with 15% discount and VA sales tax it comes to $2702. Plus install = $5366. I may go with the OME MT64 # 2135K kit (with 10% off ARB code - ~$3053) and try to DYI or go to local mom&pop shop.

But thought I'd share what I got from my dealer.
Happy to take any advice from anyone here on my next step.
$3k in labor is insane šŸ˜‚ I’m gonna go OME too. Had a shop quote me $500 labor to install it.

Wow. Yes $3K is outrageously high, but $500 seems low. Is that for the full 2135 kit (UCA, front coilovers, rear shocks & springs, brake line and sway bar spacers)? If yes I will use that when I talk to my mom&pop shop:>)
I really want to DYI but sure would be easier with the whole vehicle lifted (vice jack stands front then rear) and all the tools from the shop at fingertips - I'm kind of hoping my shop lets me help.

It was for everything except UCAs. I’m going to have them add those so I’ll let yall know what the price changes to. Reputable shop called trident motorsports in austin.

I have been thinking about this too. But seeing how its seems like these are TRD tuned 5100 ($600)plus red springs (maybe $500-600), the TRD UCAs ($750 with 15% off) and a few extra bits the price seems kind of high. The two extras don't seem to be worth the extra money.

The steering knuckle and the tie rod don't seem to be every talked about with any other lift. While is that oversight by others or over engineering by Toyota?

@MikeD Cost aside, have you checked into which system is "better". Seems the OME on my TH were tuned by the factory for better bigger hits over smaller bump sensitivity and are non-adjustable. Looks like that OME MT64 does have some adjustments you can do. I know the Fox on the Pro have 3 clicks, but seems this TRD kit has none. Wonder how they fall in terms of performance.

$2700 in labor? That is insane, even for a dealer. I mean they don't earn the name stealerships for no reason. I wonder how much of that the service advisor is getting in commission. Takes that 10% off to make you think your getting a good deal. Any independent shop can do it for half the amount of hours and at a lower labor rate.

I know on the Tacoma video the dealership said normally $1300 but also said they had a special right now for $700. They are in IN, I am guessing the rates for labor are quite a bit less in IN then say VA. Double seems a lil steep but I am not shocked but that number either if that was what they quoted me in CA.

Our dealer installed our Fox Performance Series 2.0 coilovers, rear shocks, plus a 1" rear spring spacer for $975 + $129 alignment. No UCA's. We provided all parts.

Had quotes for double that price.

$3k to install is hilarious. Would take an afternoon to install with jack and jackstands.

I wish I knew (and hope that others weigh in here with some insights).
They seem close. And as noted here there are a couple extra goodies included in the TRD package.

But will add something that I posted in another thread. Its ARBs answer to my question asking about the differences between the OME MT64 kit shocks and the Trailhunter OMEs. This does not answer your question about "better" regarding TRD vs OME, but adds information to the discussion:

"The MT64's are a 3in front and 2in rear lift on non-factory lifted vehicles. You will still see a difference in height and ride quality from the stock Trailhunter suspension; however, the height difference won't be as high as a non Trailhunter. You'd likely see about a 1.5-2in increase to the front and about a .5-1in height change to the rear. The stock Trailhunter struts are not preload adjustable like the MT64's are so you to have the benefit of height adjustability from the MT's. The main suspension components are essentially plug and play, so we don't provide instructions for those. However, the more specialty components like UCA's, brake line spacer, and sway bar spacer will come with their own sets of instructions in the packaging. As for dimensions, I only have the open and closed lengths. The MT64996013 is 24.7in open and 19in closed. The MT64601052 is 26.1in open and 16.5in closed.

The TRD front coilovers are not adjustable so that is a point in favor of the OME kit.
The OME UCAs are tubular steel (with GIIRO bushing) vs forged aluminum for TRD. Advantage TRD?

Overall its hard to assess the relative quality/performance because details on the TRD kit are hard to come by - most of the useful info is gleaned from the videos. I suppose I need to send a question to Ed Martin Toyota since they clearly know the system.
OTOH, Decent info on details of each component for the OME are available on the ARB web site. (e.g., I care about rear springs and need some lift and load capacity there and can see turns, length and spring rate here: OME 3344 coil springs, but I can't find any similar detail on the TRD package.)

My gut tells me the OME is "better" (and thus a better value since cost is close) but I don't have a clear reasons for that "feeling", other than the adjustability and the apparent increased rear spring load capacity.
Can someone give me some more specific points of comparison?
E.g., I'd really like to have the open and close dimensions for the TRD shocks to compare to the OME - I suspect that the OME has greater range - and thus greater potential articulation range. But I do not know that. Can we assume Bilstein 5100 dimensions?

That is interesting. I wonder what a Frankenstein system would feel like with the UCA's I have now but the different MT64 components swapped in.
