If my car could stop telling me parking assist brake is disabled every time I get in the car that would be a great upgrade for ‘26. 😉

I have to say color. Why Toyota thinks everyone loves gray tones is beyond me. Be exciting. Allow customers to order any color currently in production at the plant the vehicle is being made at. It's all computer controlled. The chassis is welded together, it's given a bar code, then it's shipped off to paint. Every step after that is controlled by a person or robot scanning the bar code in the chassis and the bar code on the part. If it's the correct part it's installed. Computers know where the chassis is so the correct parts are staged.

If it was me I would pick a neutral cheap paint color and offer custom order wrapping. You go to the dealer pick from a sample out of say 100 offerings. The salesman then shows you a rendering on a large screen of what it will look like. If a guy can do it for a few thousand in a small shop just think of how cheap it would be if it was done right after paint. No wax to strip off, no windshield, trim, door handles, etc to deal with. The people doing it would be doing it multiple times a day so they are going to be able to do it much quicker and with superior results that a one man operation.

Plus it would help Toyota. Sure there's always going to be that guy who picks based on price. To him Mucus Green is a A OK as long as he gets $100 off the price. But they would learn what people really want. If a color gets picked once a year you drop it. If a color is picked 100,000 times a year then maybe that should be a standard color.

Amen on colors.

My wife is on board with me just getting a Tacoma (cheaper and I won't have to travel to get exactly what I want), but I'm balking because they don't even have Heritage Blue. Total borefest on colors. I lean 4Runner for that reason alone. Even if it'll cost me 5k more and I'll have to travel 1,000 miles to get one with the options I want.

I just need them to do the press release so I can make up my mind on buying RIGHT NOW because if they discontinue the Heritage Blue without adding another interesting color, I'm out on the 26s. I'll need to grab a 25 MY or just get a silver Taco that I never have to wash and be boring for the next 10 years.

They should discontinue the Platinum Trim in Heritage Blue in 2026 and forever after that. Yes, the Platinum has dual zone, HUD, and rain-sensing wipers.

not fond of your colour, or prefer to 'rarify' it?
I love the color and absolutely seek to "rarify" both the color and the first-year trim. Kinda thought that would be a blatant attempt at wit. Oh well, you can't beat a dead horse. Well, you can, just not much sense in it.

After much consideration, I went with Mudbath on my Pro. White was, well too white. Underground was, well too dark. I’m also done with trying to maintain black cars. Mudbath being the exclusive Pro color tipped it for me. Everyone who has seen the truck says they really like the color. It definitely stands out from an ocean of grey, black, white, silver and blue cars from every manufacturer.

same reason i chose red. we all have our preferences, i guess. i hadn't owned a red car in a while and this one really pops - plus it's so much easier to find in any parking lot, haha

color choices for toyota usually follow a set pattern.

basic colors are limited by volume. the more they sell of a version the less likely they are to give you colors outside the norm (cheaper to maintain a select set of colors and cheaper to buy in bulk vs halo colors which cost more to purchase since you dont have to the volume for discounts)

usually the halo model/trims will get a spicy color but the mainstream will stick to the normal bland colors.

tundra vs the halo trd pro version
4runner vs the trd pro version / trail hunter
taco vs the trd pro version / trail hunter

vs

rav4
camry
corolla
(most family vehicles)

and it goes to reason that the big 3-4 colors are usually, white, black, grey (gray), silver, taking usually 80% of the color choice for consumers

white : 20-30%
black : 18-22%
gray : 14-18%
silver : 11-13%
blue : 8-10%
red : 8-9%
so that doesnt leave much leeway for oem's to play around with colors especially toyota being so ultra conservative in all the things they do

Still no news on the 2026? Can't even find a 2025 to test drive where I live.

We have a '25 TRD Off Road Premium in Everast and a '25 Pro in Black w/Black interior along with a '18 Pro Black/Black. My dislike with the '25s relates to the headliner being black. Makes the vehicle seem very cavernous, especially in low light. I don't get this sensation in my '18. The wheels on the '25 Off Road are very Unattractive.. Have had a set of TRD Black accessory wheels on order for several weeks with no update for availability. Lastly, really wish both vehicles had heads up display. I really like the Hybrid drivelines in the '25s. Good power and drivability. Very pleased with our purchases and see owning these for an extended period of time, along with the '18 Pro.

1) A V6 option
2) Air Suspension (not for towing, for comfort) or just get a different vehicle.
3) Better quality control
4) Electronic mirror available on ALL trim levels
5) Parking Assist sensors on ALL trim levels.

Finally, you know the 2026 is another excuse to raise the pricing again.
