Yes, "it didn't even thin the oil's viscosity out of spec this time"...
but just barely...
and the other two times, it did.

46.2 vs. 46 lower bound limit
6.1 vs 6.0 lower bound limit

Too close to comfort, if it were me.

By the way, thank you for posting your UOA here - I think this thread will serve as a great resource to many who want to care as best as they can for their truck.

Also, has anybody used Polaris? How/where does one get the oil samples from them? Seems to be a pain working around the website, but I have heard they are excellent.

That's a great deal on oil! Would you mind sharing which dealer?

I'm not seeing the 20% discount applied - and yes I am signed in.

It's a good deal on the Toyota national Web site. Unfortunately the Toyota dealership that I ordered from contacted me and said that they don't ship fluids because it's considered hazmat. So they had to cancel my order. The dealership told me that they contacted Toyota to update their Web site to disallow customers from ordering motor oil and other fluids from their dealership, but Toyota still hasn't updated it yet.

I'm hoping I don't suffer the same

Fortunately, I received an email stating my order has shipped so it appears they are sending the oil. The odd thing is I have multiple tracking numbers so maybe the oil is coming from somewhere else?

I think it depends on the dealership you order it from and if they're willing to take on the liability to ship it. Sounds like there is special packaging requirements and if the contents leak or spill during shipment, the dealership is responsible. Talking with the guy at the parts department, they don't want to assume that liability. Sounds like the dealership you ordered it from made arrangements with a third-party warehouse to store, package up, and ship their motor oil, other fluids, or maybe handle all of their online orders.

For the Pennzoil fans, a Pennzoil employee (supposedly) addressed the formulation rumors on BITOG:
https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/t...atinum-no-longer-gtl-base.405517/post-7684172

"First, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum formulations have not been altered in any way and continue to use the same percentage of GTL base oil."

"For Pennzoil Platinum and Pennzoil Platinum High Mileage products, we are using alternate formulations in response to ongoing supply constraints and to help maintain product availability. These formulations now use a combination of GTL and high-quality non-GTL base oils and continue to meet the claims, specifications and approvals stated on our product labels and website, including applicable API and ILSAC specifications."

Thanks for sharing that clarification post from the Pennzoil Product Portfolio Manager! That's great to hear that the PUP formulation hasn't changed.

Getting a $94 oil change at 950 miles this morning. Plan to change again at 2500, 5000, then 10000 with analysis. My base OCI is 5k miles. At the 10k change, I will have evaluated Toyota 0W20 thoroughly. If it looks good, I'll continue using it. If not, I'll run it after 10k miles for an appropriate and data driven OCI and change to something else.
