Hi All!

Been lurking for a while. Longtime 4Runner owner - a 2nd gen (SR5), 3rd gen (Limited), two 4th gens (both Sports), and two 5th gens (both TRD Pro's). I had a 2015 Pro that I loved and served us well for 10 years when it saved us in a head on collision last summer. I bought the exact same replacement 2024 Pro and have had it over a year now. I love it, but I feel like I am driving the same vehicle I have been since 2015. It is time for something "new" and I believe the 6th gen will fit the bill. I just need to decide which trim!

Welcome to the forum Kevin. Well, you've already had an SR5, Sport, Limited, and Pros. Why not mix it up and go for an ORP, Trailhunter or Platinum! As you already know, you can't go wrong with any trim!

Thanks for the welcome, Anthony. I would love to try Trailhunter, Platinum, or another Pro, but I am only considering the non-hybrid options. My 2nd job (PA/Band Sound/DJ) requires maximum storage space. The hybrid battery takes up too much vertical space and cannot fit some of my taller equipment (speakers, TV's, etc).

I finally test drove 3 different models this weekend: Sport Premium (4cyl gas), Limited (4cyl gas), Off Road (hybrid - they did not have any non-hybrid OR's on the lot). I think I am going to try to decide between the Limited and the ORP...

Good luck in your search and post pictures when you get your new 4Runner! You'll be happy with the new 6th gen.

2025 4Runner TRD ORP
Picked up a Supersonic Red ORP last week and I'm happy to be here to learn more about these rigs. This is my fourth Toyota in the last 30-ish years, but my first 4Runner. I had a T-100, then a Gen 2 Taco DCLB, and most recently a Gen 3 Taco DCLB.

I thought I was a truck guy, but lately (and my experiences driving rental Gen 5 4Rrunners over the last 10-15 years) I started to really want a 4Runner as my daily driver. I set up both my Tacos to sleep in with a drawer/sleep platform in the bed, and I plan on building something similar for the back of the 4Runner.

Other than floor mats, cargo mat, screen protector, organizer for the center console, and a phone mount I haven’t done much other than drive it and familiarize myself with all the features. For example, backing out of the driveway this morning for the first time with the bike mounted on the bike rack the rear sensors freaked out and engaged the brakes automatically. Took me a few minutes to figure out which sensor it was and turn off the PSBK (parking support brake?)

At some point there’s going to be new wheels, better tires on the 4R and maybe a modest leveling kit, but I’m past the point in my life where I want to totally rebuild the suspension and put 35’s on there. I’m more of a hiker, backpacker, mtn biker, and bird hunter these days, and I just need the 4R to be capable of getting me out there. I'll do the rock-crawling on two-wheels or on foot.

Cheers!

Hey everyone.

Please don't ban me, but I currently have a 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness.

I have wanted a Taco since back in 1999 and never made the switch to Toyota.

Really considering getting a '26 4Runner Trailhunter, so this forum has been popping up a lot in my searching. Figured I'd join and get browsing on topics.

Welcome! There is a lot of good information here, so browse around! I have had a 4Runner ORP (off road premium) hybrid for around 6 months and am very happy with it.

My name is Dan and I have been a avid overlander up here in Canada for about 10+ years. i upgraded to the 2019 4Runner brand new and put almost 200,000KM original on the thing (20,000 of that hard off road use). Im primarily an off grid camper so my rig sees more forest and swamp then rock and sand.

I just put a down payment on a new 2026 TRD Off Road Premium with expected delivery between January and March. Parts have already been ordered for the mods already so i intend on keeping you all updated on my new build as it moves.

Iv included some pics form my Gen 5 4Runner adventures incase anyone was interested. Looking very forward to the Gen 6 progress.

Hello everyone,

My name is Mitesh and I traded in my trusty Subaru Forester back in March for a shiny new TRD ORP. I’d been wanting a 4Runner for a few years and the stars finally aligned and I couldn’t be happier!

I’ve jumped in with both feet and have done quite a few upgrades/mods 😀. My wife and I recently did a 10-day camping trip around SE Utah and had a blast! Can’t wait for the next adventure!

Beautiful set up. Looks like your running 285's on there. Am i seeing right? If so do you mind sharing the fitment issues if any? Is that a factory height or did you do a lift?

Thank you! Those are actually Toyo 35s on 17-inch wheels. I’m running the Westcott pre collar kit, which, as you probably know, requires just a bit of trimming to fit 35s.

2025 ORP hybrid
Hi all, first time Toyota and 4Runner owner here. After my Cherokee Trailhawk showed signs of transmission issues at the beginning of a camping trip last week deep into Big Bend country here in Texas, fate led me to finally pulling the trigger on a ‘25 ORP hybrid. It was a complicated scenario given that we were towing our teardrop, but couldn’t be happier all said and done and we were grateful that the dealership where we were had just about exactly what I’d been looking for in a 4R. I’ve now put over 1,000 miles on it, many in tow, some off-road, and am excited to be here to learn from everyone as I set it up the way I’m wanting to.

Nice looking little trailer, can you give some details on it?

Not really supposed to tow in the first 1000 miles, but sounds like you had little choice...and I am guessing that is a fairly lightweight trailer?
