BFG KO3 (C-load) 285/70/17 on Method 703 17 x 8.5” (+35mm offset)
No lift yet, but no rubbing detected either
If you’re looking at 17 x 8.5” wheels and want the tires flush with the fender flares, IMO the +35mm offset is the way to go. +25mm would have a little more poke (10mm worth…)
I installed one in my Sprinter camper van. It does work, but won’t pull nothing out of nothing. If there’s 1 bar of native cell signal, I can usually get 2 to 2.5 bars with the Weeboost on. Or in other words, I can turn marginal cell signal where you can barely text into enough bars to surf...
My wife put Tux Mats in her Volvo last summer. Agreed, they take a bit to relax and conform to the footwells. I think we let her’s sit for a few weeks, then used the supplied clips to attach them to the carpet. I plan on doing the same with my 4R, but to be honest I’ve just been busy doing...
I’ll toss out a 3rd option: Tux Mats. Check ‘em out. More protective coverage than the other two.
For the rear-cargo mat, I like the Weather-techs.
For the rear seat backs, Lasfit seems like a really good option.
I’ve been researching tires to put on my ORP and have been considering SL’s vs C-load.
I always run C-loads on my Tacoma’s but doing some research it looks like the popular C-load Wildpeak AT4Ws in 285/70/17 weigh a wopping 67 lbs, whereas the SL version in the same size are a more reasonable...
Thanks, 1/2” of poke is perfect for me. +35mm offset it is w/ the 17x8.5’s!
I also appreciate you passing on your experience ordering the Methods.
Enjoy your truck and all the great backroads you have in Colorado!
Nice job and great looking truck! I’ve been looking at the same Method 703’s in +35 offset for my ORP. I’m thinking the +35 offset on the 17x8.5’s would net a flush-poke or put the bulge of the tire a little outside the fender. Whereas +25 would be about a 1/2” poke. Can you confirm...
I’ve used Weather-Techs in my last three vehicles and have always been happy with them. Recently my wife got a set of Tux Mats for her new car and I was impressed with how much of the floor and sides they cover. So I got a F & R set for my new 6G4R ORP. Installed them the other day, they look...
Got a 6G4R noob question:
I’m coming from the Gen 3 Taco where the bolt pattern is the same, but the center bore diameter is bigger (106.1 mm on the Gen 3 Taco vs 95.1 mm on the 6G4R). It looks like most wheel manufacturers are still going with the larger 106.1 mm center bore.
So are people...
On my gen 3 Taco I pulled the headrests off the rear seats and only put them back on when I sold the vehicle.
On my 6G4R, I’m debating removing them, however unlike my old Taco I raised the driver seat so the top of my head is about 1” from the headliner. I prefer to sit higher and it’s more...
I think you made the right choice in selecting the ORP with more features. A) you’ll get to enjoy them, B) you’ll get a higher resale value when you move on.
Back in the mid-2000’s when I got my gen 2 Taco I opted for just the SR5 trim. Price was part of it, but my main rationale: I was going...
Picked up a Supersonic Red ORP last week and I'm happy to be here to learn more about these rigs. This is my fourth Toyota in the last 30-ish years, but my first 4Runner. I had a T-100, then a Gen 2 Taco DCLB, and most recently a Gen 3 Taco DCLB.
I thought I was a truck guy, but lately (and...
