I purchased this hybrid TRD ORP in late July. Since then, I've been working diligently to get it trail-ready for next year. I've been visiting Colorado the past few years and have had to limit my travels and where I was able to go, due to not having enough clearance in my prior vehicle. Like most of you, I've really tried to pick the parts that are right for me and suitable for my needs. Most of the time, that means spending a little bit more money up front for something that does what I need to do and is going to last.

Almost all of the parts that are listed below are currently installed. I'm still waiting to install a few of the skid plates, and I'm waiting on a new awning bracket from Westcott Designs. For those of you who are considering running Molle panels with their awning brackets, be aware that they may not fit due to the thickness of the added bracket that holds the Molle panel onto the roof rack. (As a side note, I talked to Jeff yesterday, and he's working on fixing that.) My OVS awning and Roam cargo boxes are not installed, mainly because I won't be using them until next spring. I have the roof rack set up right now to carry two 95 L Roam cargo boxes as well as a Starlink Mini and traction boards.

I plan to purchase Rock sliders and a Cargo storage system next spring. I'll probably wait a while to add a front bumper winch, extra lights, and a rear hitch tire carrier.

Very cool build!

I noticed the antenna cable and mount - did you also put a radio (HAM/GMRS) in the 4Runner? I'm looking for ideas for how to mount mine.

Thanks.
Yes I have a GSMR from a previous build. I’ll post a picture of where I mounted it in a bit.

This is how I have the radio mounted. The base is mounted to the carpeting floor liner with Velcro and the microphone holder is 3M to the underside of the dash. I didn’t want to put any holes in the trim. I have an exterior speaker. I tucked the wire underneath the center council and it’s hidden kind of by my feet. As you can see in the pictures.

Hey that's a nice build coming along pretty well. I was wondering why you put on a wheel spacer? Was it just to push the wheel out a little bit because of your Westcott lift? Thanks in advance

Just like the way it looks. No other reason. I may take them off when I head out west but I’m not planning on doing anything too crazy, and from
What I’ve seen on these (KSP) they can take trail abuse.

The one thing I didn’t list right lol
https://www.etsy.com/listing/1677904806/?ref=share_ios_native_control

if you order it from him, be sure to tell him you need one with a longer backing. The one he sent me the first time wasn’t long enough to keep the badge in the grill so he had to re-print one with a longer back.

Haha I was reeeaaaaally hoping I didn’t miss it in all those other links and you’d think I was just being lazy 😂. Thanks buddy. I found em on one of the aftermarket parts sites but they were like 3x the price. Thanks again!

Not a problem. Yeah I would suggest buying a badge from that guy. He’s really customer service friendly. The first backing he sent to me. I sent him a picture and told him it wasn’t holding in place properly and he sent me a whole new badge and two new backings one that was medium length which I used and the other one that was really long and didn’t charge me an extra cent.
I also found these clips that can be used to hold wires against a 8020 type roof rack rail I’ve already ordered three different sets of clips from this guy and I’m happy with them

Very nice, will definitely check out his stuff. It’s not very often you’ll find great service like that nowadays. I appreciate it!

Love the build. I got a blue ORP hybrid myself as well. This will be great inspiration.

Also, don't let your wife find this post 😂
I’m not married. That’s how I’m getting away with it!
