Thanks for this. Love my Pro wheels but have regrets now that I know how hefty they are 😔
I like how the TRD pro wheels look also, but also trying to keep weight down, so tire selection was limited to about 40# to keep weight. I actually ended up going back to my 17" Icon's which weighed right at 26#, gave me more options on tires. Currently have Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 285/70r17 SL rated which weighs 49#. I like tires, but thinking about changing them to either K02 or K03.

interested to see pics and hear your take. Was looking at same sizes.
Here are some pictures, just got them on but initial impression is they’re awesome … love at first sight. Very quiet tires, no noticeable difference from the stocks.

I think it will look better leveled,

Specs:
Wheels - SCS F5 17x8.5” +20 offset 21.5 lbs
Tires - Nitto Terra Grappler 285/70/R17 SL 48 lbs

total rolling weight 69.5 lbs vs 75.2 lbs on the stock limited 20’s and Dunlop highway tires.

I’m hopeful to minimize the trade off of increased width, poke, rolling resistance by slightly reduced unsprung weight. But we shall see.

I have a 100 mile highway commute 2x per week so I will have a good idea of MPG impact shortly, will report back.

Looks nice. What rims did you get? Is Nitto G3 the tire that has an aggressive sidewall on one side and less aggressive on other? Let us know how they perform.

I am still in tire hell. I actually swapped the KO3s out yesterday for AT4Ws because after replacing a KO3 already they still had some jitter at 55. The AT4Ws are 3 pounds lighter, E load, 265/70/18, but they are a 33.4" diameter tire. So I lost 10mm width, but gained about .24" height. Sadly, the AT4Ws are wobbling at 70, going back to Discount today. I was looking at the Nitto G3s, they seem to be rated quite well, much lighter, and don't need a lot of weight to balance. Discount might look at me sideways if I swap to a third tire though.

that sucks. I get mine back tomorrow with the new KO3s. They were road force balanced. Told me it took some weight but nothing crazy. I have some highway time on them tomorrow and curious to see what they are like.

yeah mine have the less aggressive side out. The other side is more like the Wildpeak shark fin pattern.

I am curious now after rolling the AT4Ws, both them and the KO3s had the same jitter at 55 MPH. I thought it was a balance issue, but now I am wondering if it is the nature of my suspension. It feels like I am hitting some very quick and small bumps even though the road is smooth.

The AT4Ws also have a noticeable wobble at 70, which does feel like a normal off balance problem. I'll see what they say. They also road forced the AT4Ws before putting them on. Let me know how your ride goes when you get it.

The KO3s are crazy quiet now hearing the AT4Ws. The AT4Ws feel like they roll a little better even though the KO3s were rated as better rolling resistance. Granted they are 3 lbs lighter, but still 57.2 lbs each over 60.

KO3s on. OEM size (265/70 R18). Load D. Very quiet on highway. Just did about 100 miles of 70mph+ driving and no issues. Had them road force balanced when mounted. So far so good. Can definitely feel change in ride from Load SL to Load D but nothing that is a big deal.

Nice. Hope you continue to like them. They were definitely quieter than the AT4Ws. I've been happy with the switch so far. Hit some rocky dirt today going mountain biking and they felt fantastic off road. Makes the on road manners worth it.

I posted before that ran 285/60r20 Ko2 E rated from my Tundra on my wife's Limited. Was quiet and ride was a little stiffer, but not bad, but could feel lugging and breaking due to it being about 30# heavier than stock. MPG was at 19.2 so changed to 285/70r17 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT SL on Icon's which was same weight as stock and MPG went down to 18.2!! Still a head scratcher....
