Hello, I have a 2025 ORP with around 10K miles and it has developed a loud ticking sound coming from around the dash where it meets the windshield. I have tried isolating the source but have not been aboe to get to it. Anybody else have this issue? Tends to happen more or be louder when it is hot outside. Sort of sounds like metal ticking. Happens whenever the car is moving above a few MPH.

most likely a clip under the dash, or most likely a plastic panel is rubbing.

had this happen on our 2016 taco, the speaker cover was rubbing in the corner.

funny pic of me putting some toothpicks in the corner to isolate the sound and fixing the issue.

eventually added some rubber felt along the base to give the 2 plastics and easy way to flex without making noise

Want to revive this as I'm experiencing the same. Going to do some more experimentation this weekend, but something I noticed that the heat shield under the hood was missing some clips (like they literally fell out lol). When looking further, the windshield wiper fluid hose is fed from the driver side and under the heat shield. I almost suspect that the hose is hitting the bare metal under the heat shield and causing the same exact noise you have in your video.

Regardless, very curious to know if you found a fix to the noise @Yetirunner9

Did you end up figuring this out by chance?

I'm having this same issue, almost sounds like a styrofoam cooler lid vibrating right under windshield. Funny thing is I installed a hood insulator before this started and was sure that was the noise, so I ripped it out. Turns out, that wasn't it at all. I'll check the hood prop and see if its loose, thanks for the tip.

I checked the hood prop too and resolved the loose end, but that did not resolve the issue.
The way you described it as a cooler lid vibrating is spot on!

I am having the same
Issue. 3k miles. I live in Arizona, seems to be worse when it’s hotter outside and while. Driving over bumpy roads. It’s driving me crazy! I have a few suspicions, radiator support cover, hood seals (on each side fender) and now upon seeing this thread the hood prop. Please anyone with any insight. I’m to the point where when I see a 6th gen on the road I want to ask the owner if they hear it too! My 5th gen was so quite compared to this. I have to drive with my radio volume high to not be annoyed by it. Haha

I haven’t figured it out yet. It may also have something to do with the rubber cowl cover right below the windshield. If you push that piece up and down, it sounds like it could be a possible source.

Hopefully we can figure this out, I’ve been doing some investigating, pushing on every piece in the engine bay. Sad we have to do this with such new vehicles.
