I actually have a pretty good camera tool that I am going to use first. Not sure if it's the same kind of thing you are describing but my plan is to remove the infotainment screen and see what I can access from there. The next step after that is pulling the remaining dash trim panels.
Does anyone know where we can find comprehensive instructions for removing the dashboard? I have a rattle that the dealership is not being super helpful in finding, and I wanted to see how complicated and difficult it would be to get behind the dash myself.
2 questions:
- Are you going to go up behind the dash? If so can you take some pics I have a rattle behind there and am trying to decide if I do this or not.
- Are there shops that will do this for me? I don't have the time.
For anyone watching this thread, Goose Gear has released a great looking seat delete / rear plate system. Not sure I want to take out my rear seats (maybe one side?) but considering a combination of the rear plate plus the hele box sleeping system...
Ha! Yes it is a pain. I used a set of those extra long pliers. It took me a minute too. I have seen a couple of videos where people remove other pieces to get to those ports, but I didn't need to do that once I figured out that I have to use the pliers.
I don't right now, and my car is getting some work done so I can't get some for a few days.
