Help me out. If we assume the air was a liquid going into a hydropower turbine, then the column of water has to be solid and homogeneous lest any turbulence lead to imbalance in the turbine vanes. This is why Venezuela’s hydropower system collapsed. They didn’t pay for maintenance nor did they assure that the water inlets saw only a solid column of water. Similarly the turbos themselves want a steady uniform column of air absent of any tumbling or non linear flow that can cause minute imbalances which at high RPM, will lead to excessive bearing loads, wobble, or worse I suspect

We cannot assume air is a liquid. Gasses and liquids are different fluids and behave pretty differently in numerous situations. Small engine turbochargers cannot be compared to large-scale hydropower pumps.

Given the geometry of the parts in the situation, if a suction leak entering into the parts in this joint were significant, the draw is concentric from the outside and would uniformly travel towards the center of the flow path anyway. The overall flow of the entire path itself would essentially be the same.

It's the amount of the vacuum leak that is cause for worry, because that will affect fuel trims and lead to a CEL if it is large enough.

Whatever you add to the tractor, it remains a tractor. This 2.4L gas tractor engine will stay the same, regardless of what intake you add to the engine.
On the other hand, a thin air filter may harm your engine due to dust getting through. If you need to gain horsepower, the only way is through an aftermarket tuner, using premium gas, etc.
These things are just gimmicks, in my opinion .

You’re thinking about it like Cobb or the Euro/Subaru world, where stepping up "stages" requires specific bolt-on hardware like downpipes, intakes, and intercoolers.

OTT doesn't operate like that. They keep all emissions 100% intact, so there are no catless/hardware-dependent files anyway.

On our new 2.4L turbo platform, the standard performance tune is essentially Stage 1. It’s a full ECU and TCU recalibration dialed in to run safely on a bone-stock truck or one with basic mods like tires and an intake.

Bottom line, you don't need any aftermarket parts to run the full tune. It’s strictly software optimizing boost delivery, fueling, throttle sensitivity, and transmission shift logic.
so what you're telling me get a OTT tune so i can wear my factory parts out faster!! got it Thanks bro! such a huge help.

You must be new to Toyota 😂 OTT Tune has been around for 5+ years for Toyota platform. Zero reports on any issue you mentioned. I had it on my 4th gen Tacoma, with the same turbo 4 engine, that ran for 80k miles before I got the 6th gen 4Runner.

You obviously haven't a clue regarding forced induction engines. As for your tractors, many companies offer differing tractors with the same engine in differing horsepower configurations, achieved by differing fuel pressure, injectors, timing, upgraded turbochargers, intercoolers and ECUs. One would think if you could do this with something as simple as a tractor, surely this could be accomplished with a SUV?

Exactly. Many outboards with varying horsepower rating are actually the same motor, ie 150, 175, 200. And, it’s been that way for a long time.

Obviously I didn’t create this thread to have it go this way, but there are some good discussions about the product. I do believe that the case Sxth is trying to make is not sitting well with current customers or potential future customers. Do I think it provides better flow yes but with that being said there is a reason Toyota create a product that has zero leakage post MAF. The other companies inlets when they come out like banks and teqsport will probably not have a leak by issue. So I question Sxth as to why they found this design the best fit. It’s probably cheaper to create but they had to have known that people were going to deconstruct their product and post their results. Going forward Sxth you should have probably posted any anomalies that people would
Find like a leak test cause that would give consumers notification before buying it but also actually posting your findings as to why you think these anomalies (not just we put a gasket on it and it’s good now) but actual evidence and why they are ok and won’t hurt the vehicle it’s put on.

This has coincided with the “leak test”. Coincidence?

Ohh duh my bad, I forgot Tacoma and 4runner parts or made by magical Japanese part fairies that never wear out or break...🙄🙄🙄.
