Started sound deadening the interior. Want a quieter ride and hopefully helps on the sound quality of the stereo system. Using the stuff from Amazon. Considerably cheaper than Dynamat and the like . It goes down the same, doesn’t smell. Topping with a foam layer.

I see a huge cavity in the floor of your first photo. Is that "usable space" for storage or not readily accessible? I tried to lift the floor up quickly and it didn't come up - I then assumed it was flat below there since the spare was tucked up pretty high.

I did a very similar project about 14 years ago to a 2001 Jeep Cherokee. Headliner, side panels, floor, up behind the dash - everything. Then took it on a 3-week trip to upper Minnesota and camped inside the whole time. All the effort was worth it. The Jeep felt very luxurious and was the quietest SUV that I'd ever ridden in! No rattles, creaks, wind noise, or tire noise. Even slept through a heavy rainstorm when laying about 6" away from the headliner on an air mattress. It's a lot of effort you are going through but should be well worth it!

I did the same thing to a Tacoma that I had. I had another post addressing the dead space in the floor. Still brainstorming on it. I have seen a factory storage piece that goes there but have not researched it yet. I believe it’s available on SR5s.

2 questions:

- Are you going to go up behind the dash? If so can you take some pics I have a rattle behind there and am trying to decide if I do this or not.

- Are there shops that will do this for me? I don't have the time.

No, not behind the dash. The entire floor, up to the footwells. I do have have custom cut door pieces from Soundskinz. I plan on doing the foam inside the doors behind the speakers. I believe stereo shops do sound deadening

So I have a question I have a TRD pro and it seems really quiet. Is it different than the sport version?

I think that cavity is for the hybrid battery and the 3rd row seats

Nice work!

I’d personally aim to delete the JBL sub from the rear and gain more storage space like the SR5. This is the first view I’ve seen that shows the full sub enclosure.

Does it look like something you can simply unplug and remove from the system without issue or did you discover the amp back there as well?

I just came back from running errands in my TRD Sport Premium. My wife was with me, so I did not have the music on like I normally do. Anyways, it is raining here today, and I just noticed how loud the windshield wiper motors are. Did you guys notice that? Again, normally music is semi-blaring, so I am not hearing much of anything else but when dragging the ole' ball n chain around today (I love you Honey, if you ever see this) those are some loud wiper motors.

the space is where the 3rd row would mount. I'd someday like to use the space. There is another build a company is doing and I sugguested they make a "door" so that the space can be accessed would love to keep recovery gear etc in that area.
