Since installing my full rack, the Sirius XM signal isnt great and I’m looking for a way to relocate the antenna to mount on the roof rack some how. I’ve seen a couple but not really sure how it works in place of the shark fin. Does the shark fin get relocated and if so what covers that hole? Or does the wire get rerouted somewhere else and the shark fin just doesn’t get used?

Has someone done this before?

well the shark fin has the hardware to receive the signal so i imagine any kit would re-use it. but i am not sure if they also have the gps and cell atenna in it also.

i pulled this from another 4R forum and this is what a 21 4R looks like

Kinda looks like the Roblox version of Trump. (I’m only aware of Roblox because my seven year old plays on it.)

I too am looking for a solution because of a rack covering the shark fin antenna. I purchased a magnetic Sirius XM antenna with the intent of plugging it in the back of the Infotainment system and placing it on the dash. However when I looked at the back of the radio unit there is no standard antenna connector. It appears all the antennas come into the radio in one harness.

I am hoping there is a way to connect the replacement antenna somewhere else along the harness.

on some of the external forum posts i have seen, people have mounted the oem shark fin on the underside of the roof. not sure how effective that is.
