I noticed this as well. It feels as though the only thing holding the rear door quarter windows in place is the rubber gasket. Might be contributing to some people finding excessive dust in the interior.

Good point on the dust. I have noticed a lot in the vehicle and I usually have the windows up and the $r in a garage.

Thanks for confirming, and yes it seems the rubber gaskets are the only thing holding it. I may bring it in to Toyota to take a look at it.

I can confirm this is the same with my new 4R. It appears these windows are attached to the gasket and then clipped into place...very cheap in my opinion for a $65,000 new car.
Same here... I checked the other day and gave nightmares where water was coming in...
All I can think it's by design for easier window/seal replacement. For comparison 3rd gen's are petrified in there...rock solid.

We should keep this information on the down low because all the smash and grab jackasses out there won't need to smash anymore! They can just push really hard and get in. That was the first thing that I thought of when I saw my rear quarter Windows spongy like that. Easy easy access! But I digress once again we pay more and get less. Seems to be the nature of the Beast these days
