Hi all:
Just curious about the lowest price(s) people have seen for the OEM skid plate (PTR60-35240). High price (IMO) out of the chute and didn’t qualify for the recent 40% offer so I’m thinking about just waiting until the initial craze phase is over…..hopefully LOL.
Thx!!

I paid $354 with the hardware kit 3 weeks ago. I didn’t realize you could buy from out of state and save tax so I could have saved another $23.

I paid $311 plus tax during the end of year sale. The steel one would have been proportionally less. Considering the discount I just got the full set (transfer case and differential), total was $752 including tax.

Legally, technically, you may not be able to buy out of state to save tax. Many (most? all?) states require you to declare things you purchased out of state but did not pay state tax. CA is one of those. I do not know if there are exceptions/details that may alter that. Of course, you are not likely to be called out for it! Just good to be aware.

These TRD PRO aluminum skids have been for sale for about a year - don't expect a change in craze at this point. And some others above seem to have gotten it for less than the typical current price (which is in the neighborhood of $400). But you might consider the steel skid from Trailhunter or Land Cruiser that seem to be available closer to $300. (I paid about $350 back in October for the LC version: PT228-60242
Here are the two steel skids I'm talking about (they both fit all the 4Runner trims, I believe - although if you go for the transmission skid behind it, I think you need either hybrid or non-hybrid variant):

I'm getting ready to head on a trail that might be beyond my and my TRD ORP capabilities (Potts Mountain Jeep Trail in SW VA - 7/10) and so thinking I need the TH rear dif skid now too...)

Yikes. Be careful and good luck, that trail looks well beyond my comfort zone. Hope you are taking backup.
