Finally got the ARK crash plate delete covers installed. I didn't rub my tires unless I was going up or down a steep grade and turning full lock but I tend to do that every weekend.. lol

I was hoping for these to help keep some of the mud and grit out of the hole deleting the crash plate creates but it'll need to be tested. Might actually trap the gunk and make it harder to clean out... Juries out, will report back...

Was going to do a writeup on removing the crash plates but there's already a couple of those posted.

Crash plates came within a few days of ordering them, plenty sturdy and I think they'll hold up. I like that they slotted the holes, makes install and ability to set them flat in a good position easy.

Installing these was simple, once the crash plate is removed, position the cover in place by bending them at the designated lines and mold them to the frame, install OEM bolts, I'm gonna probably end up getting black bolts to replace them, but don't over tighten. They will deform.

I've read where some had to remove their mudflaps to install these, on mine I didn't have to, they fit right up against the screws which kinda holds them in place.

They could probably be installed with some finesse without removing the tire, but I'm old and my finesse days are over...lol I just removed the tires and even with the added time it probably was easier.

But like....why? Seems like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist? Is it purely aesthetic?

From what I’ve seen on YouTube, to clear larger tires people frequently remove these factory “crash plates” as they protrude into the wheel well and rub the larger tires. One of the videos mentioned with the factory plates removed, snow built up heavily in the open void and they needed some type of lower profile cover so snow/mud doesn’t build up in there. These ark splash guards seem to be the solution: lower profile to clear bigger tires, no open void to collect snow/mud/rocks/sand.

instead of sourcing new bolts just to have them be black, maybe spray them with some black spray paint and toss them in the oven at 300 degrees for a while to really bake the spray paint on.. maybe a lower profile bolt as these factory bolt heads may still snag in your tires? These look great though! Thanks for sharing the awesome photos!

Does ARK have a brake line delete or do you wait until you go full lock or debris on the trail does it for you?

Did close to a hundred miles on the trails in and above the Pa. Grand Canyon this weekend but we haven't had rain in over a week so it was pretty dry. I'll keep it updated.
