My Limited Conundrum

The Limited iForceMax gives me all the interior features I desire and a few key ones that I require: specifically power folding mirrors, dual zone AC and leather.

However, I prefer the more rugged exterior look and don’t love the chrome and the 20” wheels.

I’ve seen a few mods on here that get me closer to what I am looking for, but haven’t seen a fix for the chrome accents.

Premiums fall short on a few issues. Pro is out of my price range. Is there something I am missing or should consider?

unfortunately the limited and the platinum are considered luxury trims and have the most chrome of all the trims and are considered also as the pavement princess of the model. toyota expects you to NOT off road them so they added all the chrome. if you dont want chrome you have to get the other trims, but you sacrifice QoL features for off road features.

your only option is to do the swaps or find a shop to wrap the chrome.

I don't have the chrome, per se, because what is traditional chrome on your grill is the dark nightshade smoked chrome on my trim. The wheels are an easy fix if you want to change them. The reason I went with the Platinum trim was 1) Hybrid, 2) Interior, 3) full-time 4WD. Add HUD and rain-sensing wipers; no other trim has these features. Toss your air dam, and get 275-60-20 tires, and you'll look aggressive. There are some good videos of a stock limited being put through a skid test on YouTube that demonstrate the off-road capability of your vehicle. Spoiler alert: your vehicle is a beast.

Sounds like the Limited is your cheapest option if you "require" power folding mirrors, dual zone AC and leather.

I think dual-zone is a bit of waste of money, that is, if that option is the determining factor that pushes you to a more expensive trim. The interior of these vehicles is not so big that there is going to be a noticeable difference if your passengers want a temperature a few degrees different than the driver's temperature setting. I have the TRD Sport Premium that has the air-cooled seats. I find that to be a pretty nice feature. The softex is not leather, but it's good enough for my liking. Yes, power folding mirrors would be nice but not a necessity. Of course, it's your money so spend it how you please but my main point is that the dual zone AC, meh. My wife's Camry has it and we keep it on Sync anyways. If your concern is that you have children and you want them to be comfortable in the back seat if they must have a temperature different that yours, well, when I was a kid, we had windows, that its and parents that smoked, both at the same time, but we were happy to not be walking, and we survived so your kids will be OK with the same temp as you, I think. (I am being sarcastic if you did not detect that.)

lol you havent seen my wife on a trip without dual zone control.

i have to carry a freaking blanket on trips to the capital and its only 100 miles away during the winters while i roast in 72F interior temps while she is freezing in that same temperature. but give her that same temp in the summer and she is roasting.

i gave up trying to figure her out and let her run her side the way she wants.

As Nodak stated, it's more than a few degrees...I'm blasting 68 and my wife is at 78 with the heated seats on! I'm being a little extreme with that example, but it's not far off. When it's 100 degrees in Houston in August, I need AC blasting the entire way, my wife gets cold...screw the kids in the back seat! They can deal!

As for the mirrors, we both park in the garage and it can get tight.

My 2013 SR5 Tundra has dual climate (so does her car) and it's probably saved my marriage a few times, for the same reasons. It's not auto, but she can set hers to a different temp.

I'm actually having some decision paralysis over something that seems small like dual climate control, so I feel the OP's conundrum. The premiums (OR/Sport) should have it in my opinion. That one stupid feature is making me actually consider the Pro or Trailhunter. We use it every time we're both in one vehicle.

I think if you're spending $50K - $75K on something, you've got a right to be hard to please.
