Honestly, the 5th gen really does feel more tank-like and durable than the 6th gen IMO.
If you want to save money and want a more robust/strong vehicle get the 5th gen. If all you care about it technology in the cabin (screens/dash/etc), then get the 6th gen.
Yeah this is in California. I've been driving for decades and have had way too many vehicles, but this has never happened to me before, or my wife. Odd that it's just on this 4runner.
Also, I usually stand right next to the gas tank while it's filling up but I don't normally hold onto it the...
Maybe, but at 2 different pumps? And to clarify, it did stop pumping gas once it fell out but gas still spilled all over the car and ground. The problem was that it popped out of the tank on its own.
This has now happened to both me and my wife. We each have a 25 TRD ORP.
While pumping gas, with the gas nozzle locked and inside the tank (not physically holding onto the nozzle), the gas nozzle unlocks and completely pops out of the tank. Gas spills all over the car and on the ground. For...
As someone with his and her 25 4runmers, I'd just keep your 22 TRD Pro and drive your wife's TH when you get the itch for something new. The 5th gen really does have a lot more practical aspects than the 6th gen (build quality feels more solid, second row seats fold almost flat, more second row...
There's nothing wrong with posting complaints of a vehicle. Sometimes you don't experience the problem during a test drive. And some people are more sensitive to NVH than others. Just because YOU don't happen to have a problem with YOUR 4runner, doesn't mean that everyone's experience is perfect...
Doesn't that only apply to vehicles with a final assembly location within the US? I thought all 4runners were assembled in Japan, so they wouldn't qualify.
Same here. It comes and goes though. I'm hoping that enough people complain to Toyota about it that they come up with an official TSB. The dealerships near me suck at troubleshooting rattles.
Anyone know if there's a TSB or official fix for the rattle that sounds like it's coming from the B-pillar? Mine happens with the radio off and is intermittent. I can't tell if it's the B-Pillar or the windows. It's too inconsistent for me to get a dealer to try and diagnose/fix. I'm hoping it's...
My wife and I both have a 25 TRD ORP. I think she absolutely loves hers but I'm a little disappointed in mine (mostly for the same reasons the OP pointed out, along with poor NVH).
I took my stock TRD ORP on a short dirt, washboard road today and the entire truck shook violently. The windows and other parts of the 4Runner rattled like crazy. The backseat looked like it was attached to an earthquake simulator.
Is this normal?
Thanks. The All purpose interior cleaner Gel, or the total interior cleaner? Adam's website mentions making sure the gel one doesn't remove the dye from the seats, and I don't want to chance it on a brand new car.
FWIW...me and my wife both have 25 TRD ORP's. Mine makes this noise and hers does not. Not normal characteristics IMO, but around me the Toyota dealers hate trouble shooting rattles.
