Front Brake Squeal Noise Fix - official TSB brakes fix! (TSB-0046-25)

How bad was it equaling before,

I think it’s related to the environment…. More humidity in the area more squeal. I dunno for sure. I do know it was horribly crappy bad for months and months and now from sept through now it happens but not so often maybe 3 times a week instead of 7. I can live with that

I mean I live next near the swamp here in Florida. Very humid. Let's see what happens but the brake bedding procedure seems to have resolved the screech (for now). Fingers crossed

Update day 2 after bedding in brakes - no noise at all

Brought my car in a wee or so ago. Went 250 miles and it came back. Not as bad or as often but it is still there

Hey all, so after bedding in brakes, the problem went away for almost a week. Issue started again, sounded like a train braking. Parts arrived at the dealership today, had the parts replaced (see picture). Let’s see how it goes… sigh

Had my first brake squeal about a week ago when I backed out of my garage.

Told my dealer about the TSB and they had no idea what I was talking about so I sent them the pdf file.

They said that I will have to bring it in and they will assess the situation before committing to any service repairs.

The service rep was a bit confused and kept asking me how I got a hold of the TSB. Not feeling confident about this place. Might have to find another dealership.

So I've heard that the 4wd vehicles the TSB changing pads and shim kit works but the 2wd vehicles it does not and eventually comes back. Would like to know if that seems the case with everyone. There might be a revision to the TSB and specify different procedures for 2wd and 4wd vehicles.

Mine is a 2WD, and after the second time, the noise hasn’t come back.

I have this issue periodically but not every day especially on startup in the morning and if raining. I recorded a video. Dealer in Seattle claimed to know nothing about this issue and finally relented when I showed him the TSB. They won’t do the repair with the video until they’ve experienced it themselves so have to leave the truck overnight and hope that can replicate.

See the problem with the dealerships doing that is they back park them in most the time…. Then they say no noise. You better tell them to keep it two days. Regardless mine was doing every f day since they did the tsb twice it still does it but not as bad like it was so I’ll live with it. Just don’t go in with high expectations. Toyota has been treating its customers like absolute garbage

3283 miles SR5 started doing the sqeal today. Will make an appointment with my dealership to get this remedied.
