I was giddy as shit 3 years ago, waiting for the Land Cruiser. The promises, the speculation. It ended up being a big let down in my opinion. I rolled the dice and ordered a 4Runner without even driving one. I am pretty happy. It’s the 4Runner that we shouldn’t have had to wait for, for this long. It’s peppy and handles great. I drove pickups for over 30 years and was done. I would have bought one a long time ago but 4Runners drove like a slug and handled like crap.

Fuel thing is always funny to use as a con. Premium should be run in both. Running 87 in the LC is no different than in the 4runner.
4R should run 87, LC premium. Discussed and debated in many other posts. No advantage to running premium in 4R.

No value in discussing again here for the OP.

I like the LC but would also consider the GX 550. However, when in that price bracket, other brands come into play too unless you are only focused on Toyota. Sequoia would be my choice if they could eliminate the engine issues with the V6. Seems like the Sequoia has replaced the LC as the flagship model.

LC looks good and more refined than tye 4R. It is also built for the international market not just USA.

I agree with the OP’s stated cons.

with a trade and cost of new, not to mention the lost sales taxes paid, its a lot of money.

If I was older I might have gone for the LC. But I'm 66 and prefer the more youthful styling of the 4R 🤣
In all seriousness I'd go for the GX550.
20 hp would not be noticeable in the 4R, especially at the added cost of the fuel and the way I drive.

interior seems more spacious ?

it isn't tho....4runner has more space inside
Key word "seems". Way more headroom in the LC, generally feels more comfortable/spacious because of the lack of high center console/shifter/grab handle. The 6th gen 4runner feels cramped in the front and rear seats compared to my 5th gen that I've owned for 12 years. The LC feels like the successor of the 5th gen in most ways in my opinion. Boxier, taller windshield, higher more commanding seating position etc.

Why did I choose the 4RORP? No afterthought hybrid battery filling up my trunk space. No hybrid system to complicate the drivetrain. (For me the choice was between the Lexus GX and the 4R gas only. If the LC came originally with its native 2.8 L turbo diesel, I’ll buy it instead.) The ORP has all creature comforts like ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, etc. plus an excellent camera system and the same driver assistance package as the LC. Why should I pay $20k more for the same vehicle? The full time AWD doesn’t make it much better off roader. The hybrid system realistically improves the efficiency with only 2 mpg or so. (Don’t forget the hybrid system has a considerable additional weight). The reasons I didn’t go for the GX are two. The GX Overtrail is like $85k and it has the 3.4L V6 turbo engine, which is still notorious for catastrophic problems….
For above mentioned reasons I did not consider the LC250 and all 4R hybrid models at all. If you make your purchasing decisions based on looks alone, this is purely subjective matter and reading this forum won’t help you at all.

I test drove a 4R limited and a base LC. Both great. I’m a Toyota person. (On my 8th) went with the limited (then de chromed it) due to a slightly better highway drive due to less wind noise on the 4R. And it was 10k less.

Octane is a anti knock value. Does not describe energy. BTU is an energy value.
One gallon of 87 octane has an intrinsic chemical potential energy of ~ 125,000 BTU.
One gallon of 93 octane has an intrinsic chemical potential energy of ~ 125,000 BTU.

You cannot get more energy out of either one.
---------------------------------------------------------
The LC has a similar engine but uses different dynamic valve timing that creates different dynamic compression ratio. Not the static compression ration typically advertised.
That difference is why premium (antiknock) fuel is used.
As I recall to increase the dynamic compression ratio the intake valve is closed earlier to hold more air in the cylinder.
