Did you have factory roof rails to remove? Any advice for popping off those end caps without breaking them?
Yeah I used some plastic pry tools from amazon and just started on the side closest to the crossbar and pop the clip at the corner and work your way from there.

That’s way more integrated than I expected. Pretty cool.

did you do silicone?

also would like to get your take on the wind noise since you’ve lived with both.
I did not do silicone but I am thinking of taking it off and doing it for peace of mind. Didn't really notice a change in wind noise vs the stock rack with crossbars so far.

I've seen other posts use red loctite.

Is silicone application the preferred method?

Unless I'm missing something the OEM instructions didn't mention loctite. But the loctite would be in the threads, the silicone would be on the outside of the threaded tube between the sheet metal and the part you screw into. There is a slight gap there. Similar to what aftermarket roof rack manufacturers recommend.

Thank you for clarifying. That's what I thought but just needed confirmation. Happy Holidays!

Hello,
I can’t find the install instructions for this ARB rack online anymore. Anyone have it, or know the torque specs?
Thanks!
I lost the link to the install instructions but i noted it down that all bolts (bracket to the roof and rack to the bracket) are torqued to 13ft-lbs. hope that helps

For those who didn't use silicone or thread sealant or loctite, have you seen leakage?

FWIW, I have been watching and no one has mentioned it with this setup. Only the non-OE setups.
I used silicone on my arb rack which is a good idea if you buy the rack used since the original gaskets wont have that same hold to keep water out
