Anyone install Larger Cooling Upgrades on Hybrid 4Runner?

Have a 25 4Runner Trailhunter. Has anyone upgraded to larger Intercooler and installed additional Transmission Cooler.

@SXTH Element sells an aftermarket intercooler, so most likely someone has installed that. I’m not so sure about a transmission cooler. I’ve seen others ask about one, but I’m doubtful anyone has even developed one of those yet.

Yes, I've seen the SXTH intercooler advertised. It does look robust.

I bought the intercooler from SXTH Element. I’m waiting on my down pipe from OTT and will have them both installed at the same tim, my next oil change.

Mishimoto just came out with one for the 4th gen taco. Lots of chat on the taco forums about that issue as well. Wonder how much needs to be modified for use in the 4runner if any.

One thing I don't like, haven't dug into this too much yet (so I could be wrong). Theres claims of improved cooling but they don't mention much? Thats the main quantifiable value we care about and just glossed over.

It’s not going to benefit 90% of driving, but the cases when towing—this is when you create lots of heat in the transmission. If not cooled well, this is the downfall of transmissions. Within 100k miles, very unlikely to cause issues, but if you’re interested in beyond that…

I don’t know what the stock cooling is, but I doubt it’s much.

this is why F-150’s and bigger will have dedicated transmission oil coolers

How did your install go and could you share thoughts on performance impacts?

We installed all the SXTH, OTT, Banks Power Pipes, Mishimoto remote transmission cooler and it’s getting the TK-500 turbo swap and then we will get round 2 of OTT tune to take advantage of the bigger intercooler and better snail.
Everything helps, but even with better pads and rotors, the brakes are still marginal at best, and my unloaded 3 bike trailer makes a measurable impact on stopping distances. I’m determined to buy 4 piston calipers, before towing up into the mountains.

You already have 4 piston calipers. What is the weight of that trailer and three motorcycles? Does your trailer have brakes?

If I am following correctly, you have both the SXTH intercooler and the Mishomoto transmission cooler? What was fitment like? Was all of that put between the grille and the radiator, or did you put the transmission cooler somewhere else? Any cutting involved? If you could share some pictures, it would be appreciated!
