First, go to Toyota's site and find the pdf of the User Manual. https://www.toyota.com/owners/warranty-owners-manuals/ . Download the 700+ page manual - it will save a large PDF version in your downloads folder. (I think the User's Manual you want is the second of the three options shown).

Go to https://notebooklm.google/ and access NotebookLM. Create a new New Notebook ("Create New"). Go to "Upload Files" and select the PDF that you just downloaded.

Once that loads into your Notebook, you can just have a chat with it using the "Start Typing" box. Ask a question, and it will give you answers quickly from your source. You can stop here, or supplement your sources by adding in other websites, YouTube videos or even copied text.

Yes, I would imagine ChatGPT would do the job well too. What I like about the NotebookLM is that once your create it and give it the source, it's there forever. I just open the app, select that Notebook (2026 4Runner) and type my question.

No, not hard at all, but it's super convenient to pull out my phone ask my question (you can even dictate it) and immediately have the answer. You don't see the value?

Great idea. I like using AI for these types of things.

I had issues with the overhead console and wiring (botched Meso install). I did the 3 day subscription to the Toyota TIS site, copied the files I needed then created a Claude agent to walk me through it step by step (soldering wires, etc). Worked great, saved $2500 the dealer wanted to charge to replace the whole roof wire.

I have been using it since it first came out and just absolutely love it. It only searches for anything we put in it so it's up to us how to feed it the knowledge.

I know, it’s a great tool! I have another “Notebook” called House. I feed this one sources tied to everything around the house - sprinkler system, appliances, house paint, tools, etc. Works great!
