Is that a question? lol.Mine was ordered 2 Saturdays ago?
Ohh haha. I think my phone auto added the ? lol. Yea I Toyota assistance case open with my dealer they already confirmed the issue and actually they ordered it last Saturday they said it was listed as back order. Anyhow good luck! Get it fixed! Is that a question? lol.
Not saying I'm the first in the country to have the fix done. Just that my dealer was totally unaware of the issue until I called them and gave them the TSB number. They're making me take it in to take photos next week, unclear on if parts will be there by then but they already have be down for the fix. The photos seem like a technicality from Toyota corporate to help document the issue. You're in a diff region, so parts and stuff are coming from different allocations I believe.
Keep us posted on how yours goes! My neighbors are going to be so stoked to not wake up to SCCCREEEEEEAAAAAAAACH anymoreOhh haha. I think my phone auto added the ? lol. I got the same thing done to my 4runnner after about a month of driving. It was great. For 2 weeks and it started screeching again. They replaced the front rotors, new brake pads and installed a shim kit. Like I said before, this was a know issue and only happened when backing up, especially in the morning. I haven't had any issue since it was fixed.
Thank you for the information. In the end their bottom line is most important to them. Probably why, after seeing they had a problem with the 4 Runner brakes, they kept producing and selling them. A big F you to every customer; knowing every owner would have to waste hours of their time trying to remedy. Thinking about putting on a sticker on the back window that says "2025 4 Runner = Lemon". Lesson learned.
EFolks,
I am now on my 3rd set of brakes...and they still squeal every time I back up. Anyone else having the same problem after the "fix" by Toyota?
First the dealer I bought my 4 runner from tried a set of brakes off of a new 4 runner that had come in. That worked for a week. The TSB came out and they replaced again, fine for two weeks and back to squeeling every morning. I called the dealer and they don't have a clue how to fix. Anyone else having the same issue? One day I might be able to enjoy my 4 Runner, won't be today I guess. Perhaps the brake division engineers need to be moved over to seats and headrests.
It’s the front only. We brought the service bulletin to our dealer from Toyota and they ordered the parts and fixed the front brakes last month and now it’s gone.Does anyone hear them from the REAR only? Or is it exclusively the front? Or both?
The 3 arbitrators said that the brake noise didn’t qualify as being a performance, safety or impact to value…. I have brought it to Toyota 5 times but they only actually tried to fix it 2 of those times so Toyota dealers saying they won’t fix the brakes unless instructed makes sense so they don’t get billions complaining and filing lemon laws. Whatever I am over it I gave it a dam good shot since March and now I am mentally exhausted. To be honest I think the issue I had that set me off getting pissed as shit was the lack of compassion and or concern from Toyota brand. Like send me a snickers and a letter saying we’re are sorry your brand new vehicle sounds like shit. Instead, crickets and you gotta chase them down to fix anything. I am so over the shitty service from Toyota. Like why should I stay loyota after 16 years of driving nothing but 4Runners. I might as well get an American car next with an extended warrantySo sorry to hear. How did you lose the arbitration? I thought after 3 or 4 tries not being able to fix the same problem, you can pursue lemon law?

I see what you're saying, but the parking brake applies just to the rear brakes, right? I'm not sure the parking brake has much to do with the fronts squealing. My squeal is from the fronts when I back up. I'm not even going to bother taking mine to the dealer. I just put up with it. Brake squeal like this is usually related to the pad material. A high metallic pad needs to be bedded properly. Its almost like Toyota selected an aggressive semi-metallic pad (to handle the higher weight of the vehicle and the higher tow capacity) and assumed that the buyer would bed the brakes properly without even knowing it was necessary. If the TSB merely includes the same pads and shims that are used from the factory, and a bedding procedure to transfer pad material to the rotors is not used, the problem will always come back.... It’s my opinion the auto parking brake is not releasing completely which causes the squeal. Since I’ve been doing the above, I haven’t heard the squealing...
