I think its configuration is different. Correct me if I’m wrong but in Tundra, AVS is combined with air bags, and I thought the TSB actually had more to do with the air setup than the AVS part of it.

On 4Runner, AVS seems to be front-only, and no air setup.
here is the adjustment arm on a avs tundra. it would change how close the bump would be.

and i think you are correct that the avs is combined with air bags in the rear.

our 23 platinum came with it unfortunately. most people liked it, but personally i didnt care for it.

not sure how the implementation is on the 4R. but it was worth a shot to maybe see if they did the same with a pivot arm to adjust the avs on the 4R

FWIW, I just put the Fox 2.5 rear shocks (Fox P/N 987-24-058) on my OR Hybrid and it solved the issue that you and your wife are describing. Before the car was very jittery and uncomfortable on certain roads. Some people say "it's a truck - that's expected". I disagree. Yes, it's a truck, but it's an off road truck. If the shocks were "wrong", you'd expect it to be too soft, i.e., wallow and nose dive - not ride like an empty haul truck that's meant to tow 20,000 pounds. I know your rear suspension trim is different than mine, but I've seen similar complaints on multiple 6th gen trims. I think whatever Toyota engineer (or team of them) that was responsible for compression damping on the rear axle got it very, very wrong.

Just got the rear fox 2.0 shocks, part number 985-24-274, installed on my 2025 4Runner Limited

I haven't had time to drive it routinely, so i'll do a review later. I took some pictures for anyone else who is interested.

I only did the rear shocks right now, I may do the front a little later. Did it at 4WP.

Here are some pictures, of the old Tokico rears. There is also a sensor/plug on these. Not sure if it's for AVS, I was under the impression that AVS is only for the front but I may be wrong. The new Fox shocks do not have it, so they tied it. I'll probably put some type of cover over the sensor in case I ever need to put the old ones back.

Replacing the rear shocks does not trigger any type of lights on the dashboard when unplugging the sensor. Users on the forum said the front's are the same, but i'll confirm at a later time if I do the fronts.

CBR, great information. Looking forward to your feedback on the ride with the new shocks!

Maybe AVS is indeed all 4. I had thought it was front only because you can see the wires connecting to the top of the front shocks, but there were no visible wires on quick inspection of the rears, at least not in the same place as the fronts. But it sounds like they may indeed be AVS in the rear as well!

Been driving around the last few days, and I can say even doing the rear only makes it a little smoother. It's not so jarring anymore.

I also put in a order for the fronts. After I get those, i'll do a thorough review.

Because its hard to tell the difference with only the rears, and the front being OEM. Will switch to full FOX 2.0 on the 4runner limited and report back.
