It is ridicules, especially the lack of communication. Nothing from Toyota, no eta on the order that was placed.
From what I was able to find this is a common part used in lots of models going back many years.
After getting no reply from the dealer today, I called and was told could be weeks could be months, not to call every day. Told the guy even a call telling me no one knows wtf they are doing is better than silence....
J.C. even Ford does a better job even with the 12 recalls on the Explorer this year (which I almost went with to replace my old Explorer) Regrets on the 4runner - yes especially the crappy arrogance and lack of customer support.
Not driving it, I actually went to the dealer yesterday and brought it home , parked it in my driveway

@Lamuncha FYI the part number is 89467-60270 Air Fuel Ratio Sensor. A quick check online shows availability. Your dealership should be able to get their hands on one fairly quickly.
Perryj,
The PN seems to fit the Land Cruiser. I am not having success with that number and my VIN.

That is part number put in my 4Runner per my service record. Fits both LC and 4Runner.

there is the DENSO one and the TOYOTA one and for sure when it comes
to O2 or A/F on Toyota, you want the Toyota one with toyota part number.
bad luck and endless codes await those who try to think outside the box
when it comes to sensors and engine management on a Toyota.

I tried it on my '99 a couple times and got hosed. 3 months later my savings
went down the drain as I sheepishly went to dealer to get the OEM goods. never again

Toyota forums in general for all models have the same story...maybe you can get away
with equivalent sensors but more often you end up paying + 1 1/2 when you keep getting burnt
lol you do realize the toyota one is just a box from denso with toyota on it. its the same part.

and when you pull it out the toyota box, the actual stamp on the part will say denso.

if you go aftermarket parts, only go with denso, nothing else.

It is a good idea and I considered it but too much at stake. Doubt a dealer would install it, and worse, there is likely something in the warranty about voiding the warranty by doing so.

Let's just say the Denso site wasn't built at MIT.

I looked at a video of replacing something like that.......I am not 25 anymore. I have the inclination but lost the patience and gave the dolly away. Which is why I bought Toyota in the first place - and so it goes.
Hoping for at least a date from Toyota this week. Silence is the worst reply.

you don't realize most Denso OEM parts for Toyota are to Toyota specification and often different
specification than Denso does for the same non-OEM consumer part...and often made in different factories in different countries.

Mine is in the shop for the same exact thing; less than 200 miles. I took it in this morning, and I told them they were going to have to provide me with a loaner car until they get it fixed. They very happily obliged.
They also said they would have to run a diagnostic on it, but they would bill this to Toyota. I will follow up with what I find out. Oh well, driving a Corolla for now.

If it is the air/fuel ratio sensor, there ain't any in the US. I did random geographic calls. There were claims of in stock units but all turned out bogus.
Mine went down 10 days ago (8 working days).
Until yesterday there was no confirmation of delivery from the dealer I brought it to. Later in the day I got Nov 12 to Nov 18 estimate. But with a caution it could change.
From a dealer in IL late yesterday I got a December 13 to 18 delivery.
None of this is the dealers fault- 100% Toyota.

I feel fortunate that when this happened to me over the summer, there were parts available. I’d be really pissed right now if I had to park my 4Runner to wait a month or two for an O2 sensor.

had this exact same error happen to me yesterday after picking my kid up at school. sitting at a stop light got a noticable clunk from the transmission and then the warning light went off. Truck drove fine but pulled it over anyway to be cautious. Turned it on and off and still had the hybrid system malfunction visit dealer on the dash. Dealer is about 15 miles from me and truck drove fine to the dealer as well. Dropped it off for diag first thing in the AM will see what they get back to me with.

Is it a hybrid?
Mine is a standard gas.

It was the air/fuel ratio sensor.
At the time none were available.
Took two weeks to get the part. But I was told initially could be up to a month so I drove it home.

The transmission clunk is kind of weird though.

They cleared the faults but on the way home as I was coming to a stop there was a shudder in engine, transmission or some place in the drive system and the light came back on along with every other light/warning on the dash.

Interesting to see what the problem is.

Chiming in here to say I have the same issue. 1400 miles on a 2025. Non MAX. Codes on a regular scanner are P2195 and P00D5. Part on backorder until at least 12/15 as of today.

Clearly a big and common issue, hopefully not the start of rough waters but I'm not convinced.
