Still hanging around 21.5 avg. on day to day stuff on the last few tanks.

17.6 mpg, mixed driving, stock off road tires ORP. Disappointing.

Maybe I need to replace that air dam to get my 23/24 mpg.

I dont really care about mpg and love to smash that throttle.

I know this might make me sound wealthy or elitist and I'm neither. I'm a school teacher. But I'm with @HVLA here. I don't really care about mpg. I didn't set up my gauge cluster to show me mpg cuz I don't even really want to know. When my Pro is close to empty, I'll fill it up.

A wise man (or maybe not so wise) once said, "I don't really care about mpg and love to smash that throttle." Well, I'm with him. I'll add, "I like to smash that throttle in Sport mode." If I was that concerned with mpg, I would have gotten a Rav4.

Currently have ~1000 on the odometer. Sitting at 17.6mpg 80% city so far. Only one 200mi round trip. Removed air dam at 600 miles, installed a Westcott Lo-pro roof rack at 900 miles. Pleasantly surprised coming from a Silverado on 35s getting ~8mpg on the same commute

I don't want to do math. I know this truck burns 17.5 gallons real quick. I don't need better mileage; I need a much bigger gas tank. And, cheaper gas prices wouldn't hurt.

4runner Trail Hunter picked up in early June. 2,000 miles .Oil changed at 1,000 miles. Around town the very best I've been able to get is 15.5 MPG and 19.9 on the highway. With the heavier tires and wheels and underbody protection I guess that's the price I pay for the lower mileage than the other trims. I'm hoping on the next trip from Texas to Colorado and then to California it'll get broken in a bit more and that will go up. Either way it's better than my Jeep Wrangler was, would love a bigger gas tank though, certainly don't have a lot of range.

Do you watch the fuel economy bar graph and boost gauge? I've found if I'm smooth on the throttle keeping boost down mpg goes up. I'm not slow off the line just back off quicker when up to speed

Yes I do. I've always been a pretty conservative driver for fuel economy. I've tried with cruise control and without and the different driving modes. I know on the highway the major problem is the 80 and 85 mph speed limits in my area, and I'm thinking on the next trip out of state driving slower will probably show some improvement. I know I might be giving up a little bit with the adaptive cruise control but I'm okay with that.

Ahhhh, yeah 80-85 isn't conducive to mpg. I have noticed over 75 mine comes down but here in the Midwest most of my driving under 70

I just put 285/70R18 Toyo Open Country tires on my ORP with TRD Pro wheels - have rub that I will be working on and posting elsewhere, but thought it was time for an update here before reporting the impact of the new tires.
Data for stock OEM wheels & tires; normal mode; with air dam (except for occasional off-roading).
Tires at 55# for tank 1; 39# for tanks 2-7 or 8, then dropped to 33# for a few tanks (with poorer MPG) then back up to 39# - which I think is the sweet spot for MPG vs comfort. (and is what my new load E tires will be set at to match the lad rating of 33#. We shall see:

Drove my pro from Denver to Utah, 18.8 and 17.5 (driving 65-70 up I-70, and 80 mph once past glenwood canyon). Added RCI Rock Rails and Rally Armor mudflaps, but otherwise it's stock externally. Very happy with the results, and that'll probably be the last tank I ever check - it's > 25% better than my 5th gen.

This was a mix of city and highways, going through the drive thru, etc. I get 18-ish if I just stay in my neighborhood, and 20+ if I spend any time on the highway. Cruise control all the time, this was with three adults and their camping gear in the car, and I also have a freezer in the back. Fwiw, I put my air dam back on.
