Spent a couple days in the Wenatchee NF and found a few fun trails to try out with the new 4Runner. Definitely need a small lift (at least in the front), I scraped the skid plates a few times when I thought I had plenty of clearance. Went as high as 6000ft and the engine had plenty of grunt. I did notice that the transmission temp got pretty warm after a long uphill climb at altitude. After parking for a bit on top it was back to normal.

Great picture on the ledge! That looks like a fun trip. I’ve been wanting to do some hiking in Cascades (but I live in GA). Maybe a road trip is in order!

Awesome shots, looks like a great trip!
Thanks! It was a blast. The weather on the first day limited the visibility on one of the trails, but it’s still fun driving into the clouds.

There’s no shortage of great hiking in WA!

I have hiked and climbed extensively in the North Cascades, especially the northern part. Some of my favorite country. Wyoming plays a very close second with the Wind River range and the Tetons.

I agree- I’d put the Winds up there, as well as the San Juans in SW CO. I’ve backpacked all of them and they’re pretty much on the same level for me. That said, for me, British Columbia is possibly even better.

I hiked the Washington portion of the PCT last year, and took two 0 days in Wenatchee. Heading out west next year in my 4runner perhaps I'll make a trip up that way. Looks like fun!

Any chance of posting which forest service road you were on?

Another Wind River walker! For being the longest unbroken section of the continental divide (almost 100 miles) not a lot of people know of visit them. They definitely take a bit more commitment. I have done 3 trips into Titcom basin and climbed all of the peaks but one. Got freaked out on a mixed climb when giant chunks of ice broke off and had a horror show rappelling out of it.
The southern endCirque of the Towers is really cool too. Climbed Wolfs Head and Pingora. Caught some nice trout on fly there too.

Yeah, it’s been about 15 years but coming over Jackass Pass and catching views of The Cirque was insane. I got unlucky with horrible mosquitoes and hot weather while I was there. Had I not moved so far away I would be making regular trips up there.

I didn’t catch the numbers on most of them, the pic on the ledge is a side trail off of the Swamp Creek Trail.
