285/70r18, does this one have a lift?
No lift is needed with 285/70r18 tires. Some Tacoma owners have even added a 1" spacer to get a more flush look - like this owner.

Here's a thread full of Tacoma owners posting photos of 285/70R18 tires on stock 18" wheels

Wondering if the dealer just swapped out the tires then, since those aren't stock.
If you look at the thread, the truck has a leveling kit. There are mixed reviews on this tire size fitting without rub. Some have had no issues, others rub.

Sorry, I was referring to the 4Runner, not the Tacoma.

These don’t appear to be exactly same as the factory wheels from the TRD Pro. Very similar though.

Really wish the TRD wheels were similar offset? need to run a 1" spacer to match that look.

So I pulled the trigger on some 33" Nitto Terra Grapplers tires (replaces the Falken Wildpeak AT3WA that comes with 18" TRD Wheels package upgrade). At first I wanted to go 34" with a 285/70r18 but there were not many options for the 18" wheel. Most were E load and the only nice C load I could find were the Wildpeaks but they are Heavy! 70lbs per tire.

That being said this is my wife's car, I did not want to run the E load or the heavy tire so I chose to go with a 33s and I am happy. It drives very smooth on the highway with minimal noise and I like the way it looks for now but might add a lift in the future.

Wanted to try the wider and slightly bigger diameter Mickey's on the stock suspension and upgraded TRD 18" Wheels (+45 offset) to report if there will be any rubbing for this tire size. They fit great with no rubbing.

I'd like to maybe put some +35 or +25 offset wheels on it but I'm not in a huge hurry as they look pretty good. I think some +35 - +20 wheels will give a good poke but will rub a tiny bit without a leveling kit, lift kit, or at least pushing the front wheel well felt forward and removing the rear cover and bracket. Any of these options should do to eliminate rubbing should you choose a wheel with more poke and these wider tires.

  • Off-road race-inspired 18x8" cast aluminum wheel with 6 lug nut pattern
  • +45 mm offset
  • $1,325 MSRP ($925 dealer cost)
More info:

Anyone know if the center cap on the stock ORP wheels will fit this TRD upgrade wheel? (PTR56-35242-F1 +45 offset). The center caps are backordered.

I think they are the same size but a little different look.

My dealer is really trying to rip me off. Yes I'm in Canada, but they are trying to gouge me over 2k for those wheels.

I can’t guarantee anything but look around at different Toyota dealers. I noticed one in Brantford and 2 in Alberta that were offering reduced prices on parts (I was looking at cross bars and skid plate, not wheels but maybe?). Even after exchange we’re still getting about a 15%markup from prices in original message.
