PSA: there’s another thread where some fine person explained how to at least lower the volume on the rear cargo area door beeps (PBD - Power Back Door) ….heres a pic of the thread and the solution to lower volume in case anyone else hadn’t figured it out yet.
You’d have to deal with this bracket. Cut the vertical portion off. Leave the horizontal portion so you still have the protection if tire gets forced upward (best to cover the cut edge with something to protect the tire from the cut metal).
And you would need to make sure the tire is seating...
System should only brake if the vehicle was in your path. So either you were at a bend in the road that meant the parked vehicle was in front of you for a moment, or there’s something wrong. But there would be a question on whether there’s something wrong because if it’s reacting to vehicles...
The answer depends on a couple other things you need to decide on…
1) offset of wheels you intend to use
2) whether you want a same size spare and if you want it stored in the under mount cradle.
285/70/18 K03 fit with no rubbing or removal of anything (felt or crash plate) on my ORP with a...
Nice! Saves you some hassle and money if they’re already threaded.
I was able to see both the kickout and non-kickout type installed and I liked the looks of the kickout option. Plus with the extra functionality it was an easy decision for me.
I can confirm they will fit without issue on the ORP with the +45mm TRD black wheels. I have that exact setup. No crash plate removal. No rubbing. I have a 3/8” Greenlane strut spacer but I don’t believe that would have changed anything without it.
I also have the same size spare fit in...
Holes were all there, but not threaded. Apparently some 4Runners came threaded but not all. So they needed some extra hardware (Greenlane sells a hardware kit for this purpose).
I’m running 285/70/18s on the TRD upgrade wheel which is a +45 offset. No rubbing, no trimming, and crash plate...
I have the Greenlane sliders with kickout. Super happy with fit, finish, and functionality.
Update:
A few more photos and comments on how the Greenlane rock sliders/steps are working out….
What I like…
A combined rock slider and step is what I wanted (I ordered the full top deck)

They are E.
On fitting it in...not done without some mods to the brackets at the front of the spare, so you'd have to be prepared for that.
But the 285/70/18 sure does look good. And I have more risk of tire damage in remote fire road areas than I do of dragging a lower hanging spare doing...
I personally don't think it would fit on a 4runner. I'm just about to post some pics on this thread and you'll see there's about 1/4" of space remaining with a 33.7" up snug against the hitch. A true 34 (including the Wildpeak AT4W 285/70/18) would be up against the suspension bar running side...
BFG K03. BFG website shows actual size of 856mm which is 33.7". Attaching a chart that shows sizes, weights, etc for K03, Toyo At3, and Wildpeak AT4W in case it helps. scrub radius calcs use +55mm offset as a base because I have an ORP.
Fit a BFG K03 285/70/18 in the cradle. Actual tire measurement is 33.7”. The two brackets that are closer to the rear wheels had to be removed, but it’s solidly in place.
I have a 285/70/18 in the under mount cradle. The two brackets at the front of the tire had to be removed for it to fit. It’s snug up against the hitch receiver. I’d think you’d be lucky to fit bigger. And it hangs pretty low so you’d have to make a call on whether that clearance loss would...
Anyone fit a larger size spare in the undermount cradle? If yes, what size? I’m running 285/70/R18 and haven’t swapped spare yet.
There’s a few spots that would limit max size and likely a couple mods required (I.e. small welded bracket that hangs down to stop potential shifting).
TRD ORP...
I'm going to answer even tho I put a 3/8" strut spacer on (gives 3/4" front lift to reduce some of the toyota rake) because I think there's a very good chance everything would have still fit.
I just put on 285/70/R18 K03's on the +45 offset 8" wide TRD upgrade wheels. Hasn't had a chance for...
another impact of positive scrub radius... steering wheel feedback from bumps.
+10 is a pretty significant change from stock +55, and from the trd upgrade wheel at +45.
Yes, the Pro and Trailhunter come with a +20 and I don't know it to be true, but I've been assuming that Toyota builds those...
