easy fix for that dont be lazy and wash your black rig... instantly better looking than white..You know? That's probably why people have a choice of colors for their vehicle. Rain on a dusty black rig looks worse. But, we have our choice.

I've owned Black, white and lots of in between and I'm with ya, a shiny clean black car in the sun or under street lights is hard to beat. But, it depends on the vehicle, not a big fan of any SUV type vehicle in black. Just too boxy and angular instead of swept. JMHOYeah for a white basic looking work truck always blows my mind.
There is a study of who/what type of people purchase white automobiles....Lets just say white vehicle owners are not the most fun people to be around.
There is a reason no sane person paints a show car white....lacks depths, shine and special type of person to care for the finish.
As for black paint maintenance, I still own a my 5th black 1/2 ton truck along with this underground 4runner, maybe its me but i treat underground same as black paint.
Rain or dust just means get out there and wash your ride you bum.
Black ALWAYS looks better than white because you know what is under that dirt.
Sure its not a lazy mans color to maintain, but its always so satisfying when that black car is washed and dried and the sun hits it...
That's the difference between white car owners and black car owners, not to mention once again the latter are much more fun people to be around....
Coming from someone who's owned nothing but black vehicles for 33yrs
Black is always a optionI live in socal black is never an option![]()
According to a survey by a world-renowned car paint company, white was the world’s most popular color in 2016. The biggest reason why white is so popular is because it’s a basic color that never falls out of fashion. But it’s also highly likely that people driving white cars don’t like to stand out too much.I've owned Black, white and lots of in between and I'm with ya, a shiny clean black car in the sun or under street lights is hard to beat. P.S. I bought several black vehicles in my youth, one off of the showroom floor but their just too much work and honestly I got better things to do. White vehicles hide dirt so much better than a black and can go longer without cleaning them and them still looking good.
What about us folks who have had different colors throughout the years? Oh, I know, we're the best! Black is a color that symbolizes authority with its distinctive heaviness. It also creates a strong and sophisticated mood, as well as a luxurious sensation. People driving black cars value order and rules, and tend to be conservative.
Now for the Dark Grey and Silver folks..
Dark gray best depicts the refined beauty of the city. It’s as simple as white but not as dull, and seems sleek while retaining the dignity of black. People driving gray cars tend to be success-oriented. They’re also likely to be pursuing a modern, urban and dandy image. Silver is a color with stability and always remains trendy. It’s also easy to maintain the car because dirt doesn’t show easily on the surface. That’s why silver is ranked No. 4 in the world and No.1 in India in color preference. If a leader of an organization drives a silver car, he or she is likely to be a flexible leader rather than an authoritative one.
Pretty interesting survey by a car paint company.
here is all the colors and personality traits in the survey.

• White: ~24% to 26% market share (leads overall, especially popular for trucks and fleets)
• Black: ~20% to 23% market share (second most popular across nearly all car classes)
• Gray: ~18% to 22% market share (steadily growing in popularity)
• Silver: ~9% to 14% market share (fourth overall, though
just depends on which poll you use, but typcially these will be your top 4 colors in no particular order after white/black
3rd place will come and go as far as color but silver was typically 3rd but it ebbs and flows in and out of 3rd place over the decades.
oddball colors for toyota's are great, but the general buying public tend to go with the top 4-5 colors on used vehicles. safer bet for dealers also.
have to remember the dealers are losing money for a vehicle to sit on a lot longer than a month. going general across the board sells faster than fancy odd colors.
I have found that those who drive black vehicles are attempting to project confidence or affluence and want to be looked at as "bad" boys. It's like the guy who's 5'6" driving a jacked up truck to seem like a big man. Driving a white or pearl white 4Runner has nothing to do with how "fun they are to be around". It's a preference and nothing more.• White: ~24% to 26% market share (leads overall, especially popular for trucks and fleets)

That entire statement proves my point about white vehicle drivers....its ok you dont like to wash your car, its ok you're not 6'4 230lbs and cant take a freakin joke.... but go on tell me more about projectionI have found that those who drive black vehicles are attempting to project confidence or affluence and want to be looked at as "bad" boys. Hah! Funny you say that because I'm 6'4" tall. Well, stupid gravity has me down a half inch or so and I'm only 221 lbs. I bought a pressure washer years ago so I can keep all my rigs clean. I wash my car at least once a week because we have a quarter mile gravel driveway. And, as you can see by the attached photo, my Pearl while gleams in the sun. I read your post several times and I just don't see a joke in it.That entire statement proves my point about white vehicle drivers....its ok you dont like to wash your car, its ok you're not 6'4 230lbs and cant take a freakin joke.... but go on tell me more about projectionMikey. Guess my joke hit someone a little to hard..i wasn't even tryin either..
