Just noticed that the climate control has a decimal on the temperature display but it doesn’t ever display a half degree.. so why even have the decimal there?

I don’t know the answer, so I’m going to make one up…

The display is not a screen but rather a segmented LED that’s used for both Celsius and Fahrenheit. If you use Celsius, then the temp can be adjusted in 1/2 degree increments, hence the decimal is needed.

If Toyota had chosen to not display the decimal, the temp display would be slightly off center and not look very good. So they chose to display the unneeded .0

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Thanks. Very concise and well thought out response. In the future I’ll DM you my questions before posting.

you are correct.

Displaying the extra decimal digit ensures similar
precision across both scales (0.5°C is roughly 1°F).

so if you change the regional settings in the head unit does it change the increments?

so set it to metric instead of imperial
