Just saw these on a Ford Bronco! Sorry I said the word Ford Bronco:)
What do these remind you of?

I don’t get the implication. They look like vaguely my old FJ TT wheels and lots of other fake bead lock wheels. But still better than the TRD ORP wheels.

I was looking at the SSR SP1 TRAIL Wheels, I would for sure get these if I wasn't chasing down fresh suspension lift/ level.

I have to wonder if some of the feedback does not realize you meant to use the sarcasm font.:>)
If I'm not mistaken these are actual beedlock Bronco Sasquatch wheels with similarity to our TRD OR wheels that does make it seem like Toyota was doing a bit of a copy job - but without the actual beadlock functionality. (Either way, I've realized I really am partial to the black TRD PRO wheels - but to each their own - and hope I never regret not having beadlock wheels)

Yeah, pretty sure that Bronco wheels are actually beadlocks, or at least capable of adding them.

I could absolutely give two craps, I wasn't even the one who started this post. I just commented a few times in a positive way so I don't know where it's going any longer I am staying out of it.🤠

Off the original topic, but related and mentioned here--my understanding is that true beadlocks are not allowed on road. From what I understand it is because if they do fail they fail catastrophically. I could (easily) be wrong...anyone know for sure?

There are other options that are not true beadlocks but serve the same function (not as absolute but a lot more than standard beads). those are ok.

DOT approved beadlocks exist, but I don't think most of them are approved.

I am keeping the stock wheels. I do not make changes for aesthetic reasons, at least for significant cost. I happen to prefer the silver border anyway over all black, as I think it has a less plain look. When my tires (not wheels) are worn enough to need replacement I will probably put on slightly better all terrain tires, but not extreme as even the stock ones are fine for the terrain where I go. Unless I decide I need it I have no interest in reducing mileage and increasing road noise!

I find it curious that so many people here seem to spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars primarily for looks. Nothing wrong with that if you want and can, just not something I would do!
Function over form. I'm the same way. Why spend money you don't need too. When a stock wheel on our 03 Sequoia showed signs of corrosion a couple of years ago I found a refurbished direct replacement rather than purchase four new rims as new OEM wheels were no longer available.

Hopefully soon 2026 4Runner Off Road
Just saw a 6Gen TRD ORP with stock wheels. It looked great because the owner had replaced the OEM plain donuts with some BFG K03s w the white lettering showing.

It seems that people cannot swap these wheels quick enough for the TRD Pro or aftermarket wheels.

Why no love for the stock TRD OR/ORP wheels?
I might have missed it in the four pages of comments, but there are functional reasons to swap wheels, not just aesthetics. FWIW, I didn’t pay much attention to how my stock ORP wheels looked. Reading all these comments made me think about it more, though.

For me, the short story is I was already running Method 703s on another vehicle and I’d been happy with them. They’re supposedly better at holding a bead at lower PSI. I also wanted something a little wider, with slightly more offset, to help accommodate larger tires (along with a lift). Since I was replacing wheels anyway, it also made sense to go to a 17-inch wheel because of the huge range of tire sizes available, plus you get a bit more sidewall for off-roading versus stock.

So for me, the change was mainly about offset and bead retention for running low PSI, with the 17-inch size being a nice bonus for tire options. TBH, I went matte black mostly because I figured it would go with anything, and I didn’t want to overthink the looks. In the end, I do think it looks better than stock, but it wouldn’t have been worth the cost for aesthetics alone, not even close.

If I wasn’t planning to off-road my 4Runner, I would’ve kept the stock wheels and been totally happy with them, and I’d probably be just as mystified as a lot of other people about why folks spend so much time and money swapping wheels. On the other hand, if you’ve got the money and it’s worth it to you to look a little different (or better), then more power to you. I like seeing all these 4Runners develop their own personalities.

I suspect there's a lot of folks swapping their wheels for reasons similar to mine.
