I’m running the TRD skid on my OR and want to add transmission and transfer‑case skids. Does anyone know if there are compatible options available yet?

I just used the OEM ones--I got the aluminum TRD front plate and the other 2. Give your dealer your VIN so make sure you select the correct ones--one of the ones on mine showed 2 versions that looked identical (at least from the picture on the Toyota parts site) but were different numbers. I asked the dealer which one I needed, and he used the VIN to find out. It fit perfectly.

I have a TRD Pro and bought transmission plate PT228-35247. If I want to install this plate, the instructions tell me I have to lose my OEM front plate and install the TrailHunter front plate (PT228-35240) instead. So I can’t mix the Trailhunter trans plate with the Pro’s aluminum front skid. The question to be answered would be: Is the TRD front skid you refer to any different from the TRD front skid on a TRD Pro? (I don’t know.)

Yes, the same one as the TRD Pro.

Someone else can chime in who perhaps has the oem aluminum plate and the transmission skid plate installed, but I installed the Trailhunter-equivalent Landcruiser front skid plate and the transmission skid plate on my gas SR5 recently, and I don’t know of an installation reason the transmission skid plate wouldn’t work with a different front skid plate as long as the front skid plate doesn’t use the same two bolt holes and allows clearance for the front edge of the transmission skid plate to fit under the back edge of the front skid plate (front skid plate slightly overlaps the transmission skid plate).

I read that admonition in the installation instructions as saying don’t run a transmission skid plate without a front skid plate.

Maybe compare the aluminum skid plate installation instructions to the steel skid plate installation instructions and see if it looks compatible with the transmissions skid plate being installed.

Trailhunter and trd front skids should work on either hybrid or non.

The transfer case skid will be a diff pt # as mentioned on the datasheet below thread. I believe the Hybrids have an additional cross member. See below

PT228-35248 for non hybrid
PT228-35247 for hybrid

https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/thr...cation-front-transfer-case-skid-install.4669/

To install the transfer skid plate, you need to remove the front first.
The front overhangs the transfer skid plate a bit.

Sounded like Bakutheleo was successful with his skid plate installation. Maybe he can reply again with part numbers for the skids he used and which ORP he has (hybrid/gas).

Not sure what you mean. Numbers are not the same as what?

Those numbers are the trans plate (hybrid) that I bought and the front plate for the Trailhunter. (Not sure if OP is hybrid or gas.)

You got it! These are the parts I installed on my 2025 ORP Hybrid:

Front (aluminum) plate: #PTR60-35240
Transfer case: #PT228-35247
Rear differential: #PT228-89253

@AdFour is correct, the front plate goes over the transfer case plate a bit (so it cannot catch I am sure). I installed the front plate first, a bit of a pain without help but doable. You can sort-of hook it on with a couple of the holes. Still difficult, but then I took a bungee to keep it pulled in the right direction to hold it toward those tabs and it went easier. With another person it would be much easier. After I got that installed and torqued, I read the instructions for the transfer case plate: Step 1, remove the front plate. Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh...

It was not so bad. I could just loosen the front 2 to give some room then remove the back 2. That gave plenty of space to insert the transfer case plate andn bolt its front in, then just bolt the front plate back in as the front 2 bolts kept it positioned. But definitely better to install the transfer case plate first!

Someone on this forum recommended lubricating the rubber pads in the differential plate kit with dish soap so they slide more easily in place. I forgot that suggestion at first and struggled (and failed) for a while before I remembered about that. Just a tiny bit made it downright easy.

If you have a floor jack, the aluminum skid balances at the center round jacking point. Then the floor jack can be used as a dolly to align the skid position and height during install. Like having a strongman third arm!

Thank you for clarifying this thread for both the OP and me!! I guess I should get underneath again and give it another try in spite of the directions admonition which, as Wahoo suggested, I may have misinterpreted as an incompatibility issue.

Did you have any trouble installing the differential plate? The brake lines are in the way and even after freeing them from their retention clips I could not get enough leeway to slip the skid plate brackets behind them and over/around the axle housing. Any tip for me (besides lubricating the rubber pads)?
